At Last: Now You Can Date Miku

Hatsune Miku fans are salivating over the prospect of taking Miku out for a date after one of her fans developed AR tech which demonstrates him doing just that, thanks in part to the power of Kinect.
The video, currently the talk of various video sharing sites:
The device used is presently far from mainstream (he apparently combined a head-mounted display with the Kinect-like Xtion to create a custom AR HMD), but both 3D and AR Miku already have long histories – even the next version of Project Diva will include similar functionality, and Japanese researchers are also developing more effective ways of making her pout delightfully.
A version with vastly upgraded graphics would likely be none too challenging, and it seems only a matter of time before more advanced hardware (Google is presently developing glasses of true seeing) and AR dating packages for various public and private locations and situations allow anyone to take their favourite virtual idol out for a date, or worse…

Turned out Google's Project Glass is nothing like the promotional videos we've all seen. It'll use static images, somewhere in the corner of your view. This new AR miku project is much more like the google videos.

I am still greatly puzzled an suprised on how one illustration for a voice synthesizer software gets to become such a big franchise. I hope the original design artist is racking it in (instead of the multinationals)
