to be fair, unlike k-on, this one has a plot. Honestly I enjoyed it. I feel like I can relate to them and their irritations. They have things that make them want to scream and rip their hair out and it's not just teenage melodrama(that teacher was a pure breed bitch. I can understand being earnest but to deny that there is a POSSIBILITY that someone improved...)

Exactly, first episode, my god people give it three-five eps to win you over.
This is better than half the shit coming out. There's workable drama, story and plot, which most shows can only half-ass nowadays and this show does it well and even for one episode, is decently paced. Would it kill people to exclude boobs, ass, and ecchi?
Funny how a show that comes out with good visuals and tries to tell and honest-to-goodness story that doesn't involve many of the "tried and true" cliches of our day immediately get flamed upon.

Agreed with most of your post, though I would have to take issue with your casual Kyo-Ani bashing for the lulz.
Both PA Works and Kyo-Ani have their strengths and weaknesses, with the former excelling in original works, the latter supreme in adaptations that end up better than the original.

A Channel V2?
When I saw the screenies I was more reminded of K-On and Yuru Yuri (which was itself highly derivative), but yeah it's a bit A Channel-y as well.
I mean, I liked those series, but unless this one manages to pull off something amazingly new and fresh, I'm afraid I'll have that annoying ‘I've watched this show three times already’ feeling all along the ride.

That's just how it is, and I'm only watching about 3-5 anime per season since the most of them are exactly like this!
Whatever you're watching they're most definitely NOT like this. If you would pull that brick out of your ass for a moment and judge the show based on the actual content of the first episode, you'll see that it shapes up to be one of the best slice-of-life types of the recent years (heck it might not even be slice-of-life, looks like there's potential for plenty of developments and continuity).
Great balance of male and female characters, plausible and relatable conflicts, NO ecchi (as of yet, but frankly, I won't mind should we get a healthy serving or two later on), and great production value. What's not to like?

Thought it was a good first episode, likeable characters, lots of potential for drama (dead? Mother, guy that lived for some reason 12 years in Austria, girl with big tits.) Also great art. Im going to follow this.

Why so quick to judge? Hanasaku iroha didn't have much going on in the first episode either.
It was really cute but the story didn't look like it was going to be bad. I actually started it pessimistic because of sankaku but when I watched the episode I ended up looking forward to the next one. So we'll see. The mugi looking girl is really cute though.
