Zombie musume fans have been infuriated by Sankarea’s long-awaited finale being less of a finale than a prelude to an as yet unconfirmed second season, or worse yet a selling tactic for the disc release, and have wasted no time in voicing their dissatisfaction.
Either a second season or the underhanded inclusion of the conclusion in an extra episode (a 13th episode is confirmed as being included with the disc release, although whether it is an omake or the full ending is unknown) are expected, although fans are particularly upset about the latter prospect.

I thought the Japs would be used to getting dicked around by animation studios after the nth time.
I guess it's a form of masochism Japanese style. They seem to love bending over for anyone lately. If it's not big ass companies it's the government.
The worse thing is that most support it blindly and then realize the consequences later then deny their part in support to begin with. *cough*Ishihara*cough*
You don't seem to understand what's going on over there. Ishihara may not be the best candidate, but believe it or not, there were guys far worse than him running. And I agree with them, because if those other candidates got in then things would be far, FAR worse.
You might want to cool it with the baseless generalizations until you get your facts straight.
@02:01 Still not as sad as the Americans and their petty Tea Parties.
those 'FAR worse'get their support from voters as well, so if ishihara is the best they got, its still a sad display of japanese society
Basesless? Dude there has been various news here and elsewhere which has indicated that the majority of people who voted Ishihara was blindly following his referendum because of his racist views a number of months back. Or did you miss the thousands of Japanese gathering to support the douchebag when he was openly hating on the Koreans and Chinese? That was what got him support, not the rest of his extreme ideas. This is what I am critisizing. It's no more different than the Bush era with Americans jumping the bandwagon back then or with us Brits who thought it was a great idea having "New" Labour moral guardians run the show.
People quickly changed sides as soon as he started targeting things they like. Consequence at their own hands.
As for kissing ass to large corporations. They've been doing so for a long time. Which isn't anything new with their dislike for "pirates" and so on. Most were in favor of things like PIPA, SOPA and even ACTA. Well come October their wishes come true. If they complain, they should of thought about it more. Sure it went under the radar through bad circumstances and no opposition at the time, but the fact that there is little to no resistance right now....well go figure.
I may like Japan, but I'm not gonna turn a blind eye to their idiocy when shit happens. Same with any other place.
Let's see, the problem is that it actually follows the source work? And that is supposed to be a bad thing? I don't see how
It's because people are retarded and expect too much. We knew the anime was going to be 13 episodes half way through so I don't see why people are complaining. Plus on MAL it has a score of about 8/10
Most of these guys are like bitchy little girls, if it deviates from the source they complain and if it's faithful they still complain
MAL is well known for giving a high rating to any old shit.
Not that I think the show was bad, but a MAL rating is meaningless.
I was wondering the same, the manga isn't over either, it was obvious they would make a finale with a cliffhanger for second season
w-what? No hawtz zombie bonking?!
That's why I read manga
Japanese demand more necrophilia
Still has an OVA left ~4 months from now. I wasn't really an ending, but didn't feel bad about it actually. Better than a bad ending. It gives space to contine.
Wonder what just happened in the last scene. Did I hear a heartbeat? Maybe blood is the next reagent to 'cure' her. I will wait till s2 or read manga if that won't come.
In all honesty, I didn't really have a problem with the way it ended. It was a bit ambiguous as to what exactly happened, but it wasn't a bad way to end off the series. It was quite suitable in my opinion.
i assume there'll be a second season, cuz the manga's far from what's currently happening in the anime...
...then again, who knows... i'm still hopeful! =P
well I don't really see anything wrong with it.it is a open ended ending
Could you people make up your minds, please? Do you want a anime-original ending that sucked balls (because I don't really see how they could possibly come up with a satisfying closed ending), or a faithful, but open-ended one, with prospects of a potential second season?
The show had 12 episodes (with an OVA on the way), the manga is still ongoing and there was way too much information that could fit into the series without some serious cutting left and right. So, they either had to pull an open ending like this one, or go with an entirely original ending, that would most likely also give cause for serious complaints.
I found the ending satisfying and fitting for the show. Rea is finally free, but her real troubles are only starting. A perfect setup for a second season, assuming it'll ever come to that. And if not, there's always the manga.
It was quite obvious for those who read the manga that there will be no end in the first season. Manga is ongoing and there is no definite arks so either they'll hang whole series or make up some ending which is very unlikely.
pic #25, the fireworks bag reads : ゾンビもおどろく (Zombies too will be surprised).
That can enlighten her frightened reaction in the hanabi scene :)
worst ending of this animes season
srsly
^ What an idiot...
Last time I checked, the Blu-Rays were selling quite decently, so that's a good sign that this may get a second season. They've been faithful with this adaptation, so I don't what the hell you're whining about. Just go read the Manga...
Faithful.... BAHAHAHAHAHA. Aside from the comedic indoor pool special which actually ended pretty terrifying the anime has absolutely nothing to do with the manga after the first couple episodes. The manga also never had shitload of filler crammed into it. If it was following the manga his cat would already be dead and they would have introduced the 4+ characters they are trying to save for a season 2.
The BD/DVDs are projected at 2.5k, which isnt even enough to break even on average. Its not getting a 2nd season
So they complain about this shite and not Amnesia? Fucking hell, Japan.
Since the beginning of the series, i wonder what the white headband-like object crowning Mero's sky blue hair may be. Shinto related?
Guys, TV shows do this ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME! In America and elsewhere. If it ends on a cliffhanger, it's pretty much certain that a second season is in the works.
Seemed like a regular episode to me, didn't feel like an ending. Dunno what I'm going to do now though, this has "ended" Mysterious Girlfriend X has ended, and I just finished Beelzebub, anyone have anything else worth watching?
Nazo no Kanojo X still has one episode left. On the 6th the new season will start so there will be a few for you to pick up. I can't wait for Sword Art Online.
There's more happening in the manga. Darin hasn't made her appearance in the anime yet... (I fucking love Darin)
Ha, so do I. Too bad they didn't show her(should've realized that since she wasn't in the OP she wouldn't be showing up)
But anyways, DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING FROM THE ORIGINAL AND THERE WLL BE NO COMPLAINTS!!!
Such an interesting take on the zombie concept, all to waste.
Depends on blu ray sells. It was in the top five so it comes down to the money.
As bad as Mirai Nikki or Beelzebub, I am so disappointed, I thought it would be really good
It is like the Bleach end, useless, bad, uninteresting, they just wanted to stop airing it because of the naruto rock lee's spin off
Both Bleach and Beelzebub got canceled(and Beelzebub got canceled in middle of the arc to make it worse). So you cant really compare them.
bleach only got cancelled cause it caught the manga, they just didn't want to bother to make a filler till manga finishes.
not really anime was going on good direction, just that ppl had the perception that aizen was the ultimate enemy and after the defeat of that enemy it has to end, they gave it a twist to your typical battle manga, ppl just cant accept that, has far has fillers go, well yea there was alot of fillers, but it was to avoid to end the anime since its still better than putting the anime on hiatus and besides ppl didn't have to watch the fillers if they didn't like it, if you were to compare bleach's fillers to naruto or any other battle manga, you would realized to how good they are, atleast those fillers had a story to it, look at naruto, would you call those fillers entertaining?(insert random bullshit that happened before shippuden or make recap of the 1st season) even one piece, fillers were terrible.
Dont call Bleach fillers good. Few of first fillers were maybe good. But after years they became trash. Especially the last fillers seasons. If you wish to see good fillers episodes, then you need to watch One Piece. You often enough didnt realize that they are fillers unless you did read the manga prior.
Well they did more then enough of crappy fillers for it. But they should have ended the anime earlier they killed Aizen.
Exactly. That's the only reason why it got cancelled lol. You would think people should know this.
Still not as bad as EVOL!
Agree!! That was such a bad show...
Agree!! That was such a bad show..
Yeah I definitely pulled a
WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
at the end.
I could see an episode released later with disks but not another season for sure.
Aaaaaaaand Studio Deen throws it again
Sankarea Finale Annoys Fans: "That Was An Ending!?"
Lol, what a sensationalist headline... Anyways, I disagree. Sure it wasn't an incredible ending, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
Oh, and I'm hoping they make a second season.
Just read the manga...
But anyways, The manga is ok-paced, a bit slow for me. Though did they ever show Darin in the anime? Love her.
I do read the Manga, but I still prefer the Anime.
I agree. Read the manga until the next season comes out.
If you finish, move on to another series or go back to old ones.
It's not like there is a lack of entertainment out there.
There's a bit more manga to fit into just one season.
