If something is done, then it doesn't need a godamn sequel to possibly add on more stuff that could suck instead of being awesome. Things that have more source material to take from, yea that makes sense, but some things are just fucking done leave it alone.
Quite a few of these things were adapted from a source material with still more content left untouched. For example, the Index anime only goes up to the 13th or so novel, while there is another 9 left, not counting the side stories and New Testament. It's understandable that people would want a sequel when there is much more left to go.
@Loli can't wait/Anon 23:21
I suspect the reason behind Madoka's absence in the list has alot to do with the fact that Aniplex is already releasing 2-3 movies and are hinting a possible 2nd season. Why would the fans want anything more than that?
Of course, there is also the likelihood that most of us Madoka fans just don't want them to touch the series anymore, and I agree. Leave Madoka as it is, its one of those Anime's you're gonna remember for a long time along with Fate Zero, Steins Gate, and Angel Beats.
@ Anon 23:46
You wouldn't know unless you tried the series. I had a hardcore, type-A-ish shonen friend of mine try it and he loved it. He was already dismissing it, due to the initial premise of the story, and art-style(he is against moe, and isn't a fan of femeale protagonists). Once he tried it, his whole world changed upside down.
I just wish you some of you Type-A's weren't so "Macho" enough to judge a series by its cover.
"Fate Zero, Steins Gate, and Angel Beats."
You mean just Steins Gate I think...
I myself personally liked ANgel Beats but it wasn't that great and I'm not gonna praise it just because it's on my 'like' list.
Fate Zero... if you're gonna make, remake, sequel and prequel every attempt at making a "franchise" then yes, with enough trial and error, Fate Zero did end up coming out good. But in my opinion, if you can't do it on your first attempt, it doesn't count.
Steins Gate got it on it's first' try, Zero and Beats didn't :(
... Zero is nothing but a prequel to an already pre-established Eroge-game that has been quite successful.
--- All it was ever trying to do was explain the events leading up to Stay Night. Stay Night's Anime was watered down for more appropriate audiences. I think they were afraid of doing it too much, but that's where Fate/Unlimited Blade Works came in. (Quite frankly that film makes up for the cheesy Anime series.)
Now they just need to make a Fate/Zero Carnival Phantasm and we're all set.
angel beats got it fine, they just got the axe on the 24 episodes they WANTED to do, and got forced down to 12
all i want is more of kuroko's glorious voice!
Finally, a list without Madoka or K-On! or Anohana.
How could ANY Anohana fan want a seuquel?
Why for Anaru.
I read doujinshi for that.
Madoka WILL surely have a sequel in movie. It has been announced a loooong time ago
No anime ranking is genuine without K-ON at or near the top ;)
But madoka would definetely be more worthy of a sequel than most of this list, thats a fact.
"thats a fact" oh how I want to shove a hammer into your face for that
He must be a QB...Qualified Bullshitter!
Madoka fan *hiss* That can burn in it's special place in hell.
not really, i prefer alot others to madoka, i even only watched madoka recently, since i gave up when it was ongoing, and yes its suprisingly good/deep and alot better than most of this bs list. but then again madoka had good ending so no need for sequel, but i would prefer to see a madoka sequel to most of this list
madoka is crap and doesnt deserve any kind of sequel
Well, I wouldn't call it crap, I actually liked it except for how it ended. But it definitely doesn't need a sequel.
agreed with Anon 1:31, it's a great series that doesn't need a sequel (though I'm curious to see how that movie turns out). Spin-offs, on the other hand, could probably work (adaptations of Oriko or Kazumi, namely).
I agree, madoka is a crap!
i think you mean it shouldn't get a sequel or it may be rendered crap, due to it already being really good, and sequels tending to be....worse
Oh yeah. MOAR of Biribiri. I'd love to watch it.
I want more biribiri!
I don't give a fuck about Touma and Accelerator!
Hang on,isn't it mostly Touma who calls her biribiri?
Index needs a sequel more than Railgun. Index and Denpa onna didn't wrap up nicely and left us with cliff hangers.
INITIALLLLLL D!!!
List fails completely because Initial D isn't number one (or on there at all).
I thought Kuroko was a basketball anime... :D
The only good ones are 9, 17, 20, 21, 25 the rest are just shit, or it turned shit in 2 seasons. And Railgun at 1 place??? For what? Its a spinoff if I don't mistaken from Index. If they gona do it - make normal Index series with Tooma, that is't depressing faggot (I was hoped he really make an group that will be the 3rd power - it was said in 1 season)
I want more Kuroko's hentai antics-desu no!!
Message bomb
HotD
Need more Saeko in my life
I'd say the only anime series that actually NEED sequels are those that left the story hanging at the end of their latest season.
So, basically, this list is shit.
I think I'd prefer if sequels are only made for a few reasons.
1. There's unused source material for an already good show.
2. It's pre-planned into the story and connects smoothly to the first.
Index might be an exception.
But Hayate no Gotoku never made the list.... hm...
If J.C. Staff Creates ANY MORE endings like they did with Shakugan NO Shana, then I'm glad they HAVEN'T made an ending for any of these. I'd rather continue to like these series, thank you very much.
Shakugan no Shana Final was awesome...
@david Agreed! I thought it was great as well.
Fail. The ending to Shakugan no Shana was awesome and satisfying. or are you mad that the tsundere trinity is over?
No mention of School Rumble: Third Semester? I think that qualifies as "needing" a sequel
(a proper one).
Which Need Sequels: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 21.
What happened to Nadesico and Stellvia?
Those ones are more in a need of a sequel than any other. apart from FMP and legend of the legendary heroes.
original creator came out years ago with a statement that it's not gonna happen. Article is floating out there on the internet somewhere, but it's been more than confirmed over a decade ago.
Yeah, I wanted a Stellvia sequel SO bad too :'(
show was awesome.
15. Ro-kyu-bu!
16. Mayo Chiki!
17. Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid
19. Hidan no Aria
23. Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
24. Bodacious Space Pirates
25. Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu
*nods head in approval of this list*
Yes for FMP, a fan of Sou x Kana since Sousuke doesn't do all the generic male lead bs which prevents Kaname from doing the generic tsundere bullshit. Must be dubbed too, Chris/Luci/Hilary ftw!
Everything else above needs more fanservice since the story & endings are predictable+boring.
What? You're fucking nuts! Those shows he listed were far from boring. Oh yeah, when it comes to Full Metal Panic, It's:
Tomokazu Seki/Satsuki Yukino/Yukana FTW!!
I want more biribiri!
I don't give a fuck about Touma and Accelerator
PANTY AND STOCKING! D<
How about no?
Indeed! I can't understand why it would be out of this list.
