Dusk Maiden of Amnesia Ending “Most Moving of Season”

According to its fans at least, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia has the most beautiful and moving ending of the whole season (and of any anime for some time, according to the most enthusiastic), having caused many a tear to be shed, and to top it all it still has boobs as well…
Although it is almost impossible to find anybody unhappy with the ending, plenty have doubts as to how well the series will continue if granted a second season (as seems distinctly possible – the original is still going strong).

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
Yuuko-san ;____;
So much.... HNNNNG :D
Loved the ending, tears in eyes, watch her fade away....then he opens box, Yuuko-san.....I actually cheered out loud.
FINALLY JAPAN - a PROPER ENDING!
its really rare for span to do that :D
last time i saw an ending like that was in final fantasy 9
I concur 110%!!
seriously holy crap... this has the most "complete" and "satisfying" ending in sometime, and they achieved it in fuckin 12 episodes. FUCKIN PROPS TO THE STAFF and the MANGAKA!
i have a feeling the ending would be better if she hadnt come back... but im glad she did :/ ... so im ok with it.
agree I like more a happy ending
yeah I also prefer happy ending too
the last minute of the ep pretty much the entire episode pointless. they spent like 20 minutes making it a powerful and emotional goodbye but then they were like trolololol she actually didn't disappear.
Regardless of that rant it was a satisfactory ending but still I think it would have been better to go the Menma route
Menma>>>Yukko
i don't think its a rant. if you understand the anime you will know that she would come back. although it gives the impression of a dark gothic anime (because people's opinions and judgements are influenced by things they learned/saw in the past) its still a comedy ghost romance story, and making her disappear would be the most unfitting thing they could do.
that being said, its one of the most versatile animes I've seen since 1999, which doesn't leave a bitter feeling after the end.
Menma>>>Yuuko
Agreed.
Btw, if she just disappeared in the end, the end obviously will look like AnoHana's ending...
i want MOAR KIRIE!!!
"Although it is almost impossible to find anybody unhappy with the ending..."
I chuckled
it is possible quite a number of people are unhappy about it
What an amazing ending. I'm a man and I haven't cried like I did for this in years. A definite must see anime!
Same here, man. It's been so long since I've gotten so teary-eyed.
Same... , its been so long "2 or 3 years" since AB than i´ve gotten a teary-eyed... with "last" animes. Great anime... for me the best of season with f/zero II
I gotta say, loved the ending personally. Though I do know where all the butthurt people are coming from. All that emotional buildup seemingly for nothing. But it wasn't for nothing. The creators wanted to instill in the audience that feeling of deep sorrow from losing a lover, followed by the insurmountable relief of finding her to be well. Personally I can't see why a sad ending is ever a good thing.
1000% agreed! nothing else to say
Well said hotshot!
THAT INSERT DURING BOOK SCENE! ME WANT! SOUNDTRACK HERE I COME!
IMA learning it rite nao, to be able to cover it :D
bitch plz,
go watch clannad, AIR, kimi ga nozomu eien then come back....Did I mention Elfen lied?
this guy :'D .... u are so socially awkward even online...
Sure is most "moving" ending ever.
I see what you did there.
I played kana imouto so I'm kinda immune to this.
i liked it a lot. the
it's big

you know gifs or gtfo :p
I AM TIRED OF BETA MALE ANIME DAMMIT!
Sankaku site of the weak punk ass beta males lusting over kid cartoon porn. How about showing some Mature women for a change. Fuck Japan!
^ Talk about being severely butthurt!
And Yuuko had much more maturity in her than most actual women. Seriously, fuck your insecurity!
I shed manly tears.
good ending yes but I HATE it when they "kill off" a characters (or get rid of em) then bring them back seconds later. Cough nyaruko cough
what's better than a cute & hot ghost who never gets old, wrinkled and rusty? ^^
and where is gifs for 9 and 10?
So were there any other sad series this season? all i see are shounen and slice of life/comedy
@Canti Have you seen Fate/Zero? It's pretty depressing what some of the character go through in that series.
Ep. 19 of Smile Precure! was pretty sad
They had to do a class project on why their parents named them what they did and all the main characters except Yayoi were able to find out cause her dad named her and her dad is dead
So besides no series just episodes
That sounds like an episode from Uchuu Kyoudai.
i cried so hard in this episode i tried to hold the tears back but it was like waaaa waaaa xDDDD
and i was like "Awww its been so long sense i cried that mutch , it made me feel like "awww ive misssed these moveing animes what make me go qq"
Male 24 ;3 and noooo dont call me a weaaboo
It would've been much more moving if it didn't completely cop-out in the last minute.
It was a little hard to swallow when she reappeared again after what was a very emotional ending. Not sure where they can move from here really aside from a fanservicey OVA. I mean she has regained her memories so the title is a bit invalid and pretty much all the plot threads were tied up.
Well they could keep the "Dusk Maiden" part, just the adjectival phrase, I think that's the proper term anyway, would have to be changed.
So something like the "Dusk Maiden of Mystery".
They do more content from the manga lots of good side storys that could be made into full ep if needed.
Oh come on!
Use your fantasy.
10 years in the future Keiichi became a teacher at school bought some land on the school grounds and build a house were he lives with Yuuko etc. :)
yes or they said they were gonna move that shrine. maybe then yuuko can move freely. maybe they'll call season 2 "free yuuko" lol
I do agree! Though, none the less it was very very well done. I had loved this series since the OP song... and overall the series didn't let me down.
Totally agree. Teichi-kun, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I've gone...
TADAIMA!!!
As if we didn't expect something as lame as that to happen, though.
@06:27 Are you kidding me?! There was NOTHING lame about this episode. Sure, they copped out a bit on the ending, but I'm glad that Yuuko's still around.
This is like those shows where you know what the ending is going to be, but you still weep just a little. This ending wasn't a joke like Nyaruko, but even so, I'm not a fan of wallowing in sorrow...
To each their own...
