You are talking about Character design for anime - but originals designs for novel were done by the Yukiko Horiguchi, the one who changed ugly characters of K-On! manga into moe characters of K-On! anime.

If you read the comments it's mostly disappointment. The style works exclusive to K-ON! but most think it does not fit a Key anime or Haruhi.

Nah, I think these characters are by Toshifumi Akai, the same person who did Sora no Woto, another anime blamed for copying K-On's character design. I wouldn't be so upset about the similarities if they didn't obviously steal those trademark KyoAni eyes...
The original designer for the LN is Yukiko Horiguchi as Shiromizakana. KyoAni's character designer for K-ON is Yukiko Horiguchi. Please do some fucking research.

Even if Horiguchi did the Light Novel character design, the anime adaptions are usually slightly different. Take the example of Kakifly -> Yukiko Horiguchi and note the differences, albeit subtle. Horiguchi has little to do with the character design of the anime series, however.

i think the concept is sexy, and the art style is obviously a winning formula. definitely one of the anime i'm most looking forward to this summer (and if i recall, it was at the top of a list here on sancom too).
This anime is probably only behind Kono Naka ni Hitori and the second half of Hyouka for the summer. I have high expectations!
