The adorable antics of Mio, Yui and Mugi have finally ended with the “grand finale” of K-ON!, disappointing many fans with its humdrum campus festival send-off and total lack of any surprise announcements – although one last sight of nekomimi maid Mio does provide them with some consolation.
Fans seem less than delighted with the ending:

K-On really didn’t have much going for it anyways. The characters were adorable, and the music from the anime was good, but that’s about it. It’s rather obvious that the actual story would end bad.
They did this ending so that fans will buy the Hokago Teatime T-shirt …
It’s sad they’re getting so butthurt over a story with no story…
