Sex Tutelage Teacher Sued for $10 Million

A married teacher who spent private lessons with her schoolboy pupil teaching him the more intimate details of oral sex and intercourse rather than the English language faces a $10 million claim from the boy’s parents.
According to the – as usual – highly detailed police reports, the 36-year-old Brooklyn high school teacher, who was herself married, pursued a relationship with her 16-year-old pupil, whom she was tutoring.
He admitted to having sex with his teacher some 8 to 12 times, often at school in her office.
One encounter saw his teacher pick him up from his house in her SUV, with the pair proceeding to have oral sex and intercourse in the vehicle.
The boy went so far as to describe some of the intimately positioned tattoos he witnessed on his teacher’s body.
She is also accused of sharing some of the private stash of cannabis she kept in her filing cabinet with him.
The boy’s girlfriend became suspicious after seeing the pair flirting and took it upon herself to hack her boyfriend’s Facebook account and rifle through his personal correspondence, where she read some of their steamy exchanges, which included the boy professing his love for his teacher.
Outraged, she confronted her boyfriend and informed the school of their antics, and the school began an investigation.
When his parents found out that the personal tutelage their son was receiving at his teacher’s hands was of a rather more intimate nature than they intended, they decided to file suit for $10 million.
As the teacher’s salary is only $78,000, it seems likely their intent is extract a settlement from the school district rather than the teacher.
The teacher has since been suspended by the school, with investigators recommending she be fired. It is not clear whether the district prosecutor intends to file criminal charges.
Her pupil, now 17, is reportedly still at the school. His girlfriend’s decision to break into his private account seems to have escaped censure.

In reality, all that happened is either A) the idiot gave his girlfriend his password at some point, or B) she found it out somehow (clues, uses the password a lot, saves it in his browser, etc.). Actually it would only be illegal to use the material if she were working as an agent of the police. If an officer contacted her, and suggested she do that, then it would be no different than if the officer did it themself.
However since the girl acted on her own the evidence is still good.

I've a feeling if evidence was acquired in a more legitimate manner then the district prosecutor would have been more clear on the subject.
Of course if they find further evidence or elicit an actual confession then it will probably lead to the same result regardless, just not at this immediate moment.
Not a legal expert either, but although the evidence was obtained illegally, the subsequent confession from the boy and the investigation that was launched is valid. Only the evidence gathered from the so-called "hacking" will be invalid in court. In this case, the information gathered by the girlfriend only served as the blowing whistle that launched the full investigation. Something like that. Then again, it would be funny if the whole case gets dropped because the evidence got considered invalid.
It would be illegal if the police had found it, if it is an informant it doesn't mater how it was obtain.

Just a few centuries ago (1700s) in human history, people were getting "married" and having kids in their early to mid teens, and it was seen as the norm, even expected. Average life expectancy was generally less then 40 years easy. 35 back then, would be nearly the equivalent of 80 now. But no one had problems back then with people of that age range marrying and having sex.
So what changed?
Our life expectancy greatly increased because of all our modern wonders, and peoples (religion) views on when "childhood" ends also changed with our increased longevity.
Our physical biology though, hasn't changed much since then. Females still reach adulthood (menstruation) at a young age, as do males (sexual urges). It's just opinions and views that have been engrained in our brains that somehow it's "bad" to have sex at such a young age.

Modern kids live in a sort of "extended childhood" from ages 0 to 18 (or 21, or ...), and most teens just aren't /emotionally-ready/ for sex.

I have to disagree that most teens are unready for sex. I think that given PROPER sex education that most children above 7 are more than able to consent and are ready for sex, as I was at YOUNGER than that age.

As someone who works for a US school district, yes, teachers DO get fired all the time. Often at the drop of a hat with little or no actual evidence of wrongdoing. ESPECIALLY when it's a sexual matter involving a student.
All it takes is to be ACCUSED of sexual misconduct and the district will kick you out on your ass immediately just to avoid looking complicit. Many unscrupulous students have taken advantage of this to get teachers they don't like in trouble, with little or no consequences to themselves.
