K-ON! Fans Despair at Impending Ending

The penultimate chapter of K-ON! has induced outpourings of despair amongst the poor fans of the series, not least because there is no prospect of seeing Azunyan graduate.
Early copies of the latest chapter announce the next and last chapter will cover the school festival, with no graduation and no guest appearance from the older girls apparent – whether there will be any surprise announcement with it also seems doubtful.
Moeblob fans are unsurprisingly unhappy about all this (although as almost all of them appear to be primarily fans of the anime and not the manga, there is rather more interest in when and if the third season will come along):

I always wondered why the K-ON! girls having graduated college was a reason for the college girls section of the manga to end. I mean, the Lucky Stars manga has been going with their girls in college for 5 volumes strong...

Every time you see someone on a english-speaking site talk about a second season of Lucky Star, you always hear someone someone say "but the girls have graduated from high schol. there's no more story to animate left..."

sadly, i really doubt there will be a second season of lucky star. maybe it'll be one of those things that happens 10+ years from now.
Because K-ON was the huge success Kyoto Animation wanted with Lucky Star that actually never really materialized. Sure, it was successful and iconic, but compared to K-ON's levels of insane devotion, Lucky Star just did average. Hence all their love for K-ON and lack of more Lucky Star. That's why they moved onto other series like Nichijou instead, trying to replicate the success of K-ON.
Not to mention that to go back to either the Haruhi or Lucky Star properties, they have to deal with what happened with Aya Hirano. Not only is she with a new talent agency, she's also "controversial" to hire or replace.

...On the other hand, them leaving the ending at the school festival instead of graduation ceremony kinda implies to me that they want to have an opening in case they wanna revive it later...
Or I could be thinking too much and they're shutting it down because the hype's slowing down and no one's buying those mags for K-ON anymore. Pick your poison. lol.
My optimistic side simply just told me that KyoAni will fix everything if they decide to adapt either two or both of the continuations. Hell, they manage to pop at least 30 original characters (The classmates of Class 3-2, which surprisingly are fun to watch and worth enough getting fandoms of their own) and in fact made the Romeo and Juliet play, HTT's last school performance and not not mention the graduation day episodes hell a lot better than the rushed original 4koma. Honestly, I don't see how KyoAni can't just take what's left by Kakifly and successfully polished it into something that won't lead itself to a half-assed ending.
On the other hand, I'm getting intrigued by the partially appeared megannekko at the bottom of the page..
If this is going to be the end, then make it such an end, and one final movie at most.

Dude everyone is entitled to their opinion but calm the hell down it's just a show. I've never seen K-ON! before but it looks WAY TOO CUTESY. Cute doesn't make an anime. To me story art and animation make an anime. Just because the characters are cute looking doesn't mean shit if the animation and story suck ass. Like I said tho I've never seen K-ON! so I can't make judgement.

Its the author's fault. He skipped a lot of potential story events during Yui's freshman and junior years.
Well, I presume that at the time he never thought he'd need a longer run. Heck, since I doubt anyone foresaw this level of success, drawing it out might have just gotten his serialization cancelled.
