Ok, I enjoyed K-ON but this is a bit silly
I think K-On is up there because it actually ended, and didn't just keep going on and on...
Yeah sure you did.
K-ON had a good season closure.
Glad Madoka wasn't top. That ending was a little ass pull.
Not to mention totally ripped off from Serial Experiments Lain...
Making any character omnipotent or omniscient as a solution is always an ass pull.
Everything can be an ass pull if it comes from nowhere. Madoka at least spent some reasonable time building the ending up.
She gained the omnipotence just by wishing for it because that is the point of the entire anime. Are you stupid or are you just playing retarded on the webs?
Making a character a god isn't an ass pull if they spend, effectively, the entire season setting it up. Madoka did (as did Lain). Now, if it came out of totally nowhere, then it would be an asspull.
@23:29 I agree with how they did it for Lain, since the whole series was much more serious to begin with than that of Madoka.
Its probably just because Madoka, initially, di did not seem the type of show that would end the way it did. Which I guess is better than ending it in some other stereotypical ass pull.
I think its more of a rip off of EVA. You kind of deal with these angels and then everyone becomes a conjoined cluster fuck of thought...now that is an ass pull
Guilty crown?
Actually, we could see it from a mile away, and really, with Sayaka dying and a strong implication that homu homu is preparing for her last battle as well it isn't that good either.
Especially when they obtain that omnipotence just by wishing for it.
Madoka Ex Machina
Hmm... That must've been a really nice ass. O.o
Bakemonogatari and Haruhi Suzumiya had endings? Maybe I watched different shows because when I watched, they both kind of just stopped. Hence the fact they had another season... and the possibility for more seasons...
The seasons ended. Not their lives. There is plenty of material for subsequent seasons.
Haruhi's ending in the original airing order is probably the best ending I've seen (Melancholy, Pt. 6). And ep.12 of Bakemonogatari is pretty much up there as well.
And FWIW, the people voting probably watch too much anime, not too little.
Well said. The airing order for Haruhi was brilliant and each of the last five episodes were great and kept pushing the show higher and higher.
I'd put Bakemonogatari second behind Haruhi.
It's kind of interesting, to me at least, that these shows both had peculiar seasons. Haruhi had 14 episodes in a wonderful but seemingly random order and Bakemonogatari had 12 or 15 depending upon how you look at it. There are a numerous shows that have good beginnings and of those, some have good middles but very, very few are able to avoid driving into a ditch for their finale. (Of the listed shows, I will put Another forward as the best example of this sort of failure.)
I can't help but feel that the creators of those two shows were able to focus more on creating a great story because they had flexibility on the episode front. I guess they also had some flexibility on what to include as well. A show like Fate/Zero, which had a lot going for it, squandered two desperately needed episodes on the island adventure instead of using them where they would have made a difference, such as Sabre's battle against du Lac, which is where her whole existence was being challenged.
Bakemonogatari is getting another anime season, I believe.
Or a movie.
I forget...
At least a movie. Though I think Shinbo has publicly said that he wants to animate all of NisiOisiN's books (the entire bakemonogatari series)
i think they said they wanted to do a 12 episdoer for nekomonogatari , then a 25 episodes onefr the rest of those already out (hich is kidna weird i think, considering theyve been having one full 12 episoder for the other full books now and nekomonogatari is considerably longer than the other works...) so we can expect them to come, but the pacing will prolly be a whoooe lot faster than before.
If I remember right, the prequel is getting a movie, all the sequels are scheduled to get anime adaptations eventually.
It's ridiculous how K-ON is everywhere.

HA! You fail anime biology forever!
Moeblobs dont bleed or grow hair or have boyfriends
/Late night anime don't know but Code geass anyone?
Basically anime without substance or plot purpose.
They really need to stop giving Otaku the voting card.
Late night anime is otaku anime. Who else watches or records a show at 2am?
Late night anime has become so geared to "Type B" fans, that "Type A" fans don't tune in and therefore plot-oriented anime have a hard time reaching their potential fans.
In that respect, anime is becoming like American comics. American comic book stores became so geared to superhero comics, that only superhero-fans went into the stores, and therefore other genres of comics couldn't reach their potential audience.
I honestly feel sorry for people who haven't seen "late night" anime with better endings than the ones in this list. I don't want to be that condescending, but I really do pity them. Watch more anime, folks.
Once again they've assembled a list of anime I could give two shits about.
Well, that's too bad for you.
As for myself? I personally love all of the series listed. :)
Then GTFO of Anime fandom. What do you want? Some pretentious 90s sci-fi anime full of action and violence?
Sigh. As soon as I read the title I knew we'd have another Madoka list.
Ano hi Mita and Ano Natsu. Like a Boss.
Ano Hana sucks! Period.
Like a scrub*
1, 3, 4, and 8 = FTW
I meant 9 too.
I actually find this list to be a satisfying
DOn't listen, you have to be a bit old 20-> to understand a movie that's basically about make you remember your young.
Define "best" kind of ending...
Clannad After Story
k-on??
siriusly??
PANTY AND STOCKING, HELLO?! Gosh, what's wrong with these people?!
Dunno, yeah, was an masterful example of trolling, but calling it a best ending is a bit...
They're too upset because Gainax ruined Christmas.
If you ask me, I say Gainax SAVED Christmas. PaSwG was such an enjoyable break from what we'd been getting for years. I'm really disappointed that it's not getting a second season...
are you sure its nto gettign a secodn season? i think they said they might do it if they felt like it.
Cursed this money-driven anime industry. Couldn't they, at least, do a manga sequel?
Err... the fact that Panty and Stocking sucked, maybe?
