The advent of an unspeakably cute shota character voiced by no less than Rie Kugimiya herself has kept Haiyore! Nyaruko-san fans busily worshipping at the altar of the Outer Gods in the show’s 4th and probably cutest episode episode yet.
In case it is not already excessively obvious, Hastur-kun (Hastur, also known as “The Unspeakable One,” “Him Who Is Not to be Named,” and tellingly associated with the abominable Yellow Sign) is very probably another one of the sanity destroying dark horrors impinging upon man’s fragile delusions of safety and comfort amidst a universe populated by implacable beings of incomprehensible age and dread.

Man, I was a Cthulu worshipper but it seems the King in Yellow is more worthy of my devotion. Off to change cult, be right back.
I really have to question what's wrong with Mahiro-san. He has two beautiful women who want to crash at his place and he treats them so badly.
He definitely has a shot with Nyarlko and if he plays his cards right he might even be able to upgrade to a three-way with Nyarlko and Kuuko.
The guy needs to get with the program or he'll lead a rich life of TFL.
The problem is the girls are all cosmic horrors from beyond human comprehension. He reads the Cthulhu Mythos. He has read about the horrible things those girls are capable of. Especially the part about driving you insane (Nyarhathotep especially is known to do so out of amusement). He believes that if he bangs Nyarla, high chances he will sire unspeakable offspring and regret it some time in the future, if he isn't driven insane first. He has plenty of reasons to act that way.

If you do some digging (and read some works of H.P. Lovecraft, even if you skim through the stories), you will soon find that one should never associate with anything from the Cthulu Mythos lest they value not only their life, but also their own sanity and soul...
Some Lovecraftian rules have been a guideline to ensure a chance of survival no matter how slim it is, when one DOES meet with an Outer God or a Deep One and their abominable offsprings and crossbreeds (some stories do even show how to combat them)...
That said, Mahiro has the right idea on keeping his distance from Nyaruko, Kako, (and even Hastur, if he goes that route)...
The Lovecraftian creatures like the above CAN bend reality and time to their advantage, harass you in your dreams and even when you are awake via telephatic messages and even change their appearances to lull you into a false sense of security before they devour your soul and your sanity...
If you have read a certain story by Lovecraft, this is not the first time 'Nyaruko' has changed it's appearance to suit it's needs...
Like I said before...
No matter how cute they appear to you, no matter the way they act and make you feel...One should best keep their distance...
Bottom Line to ensure survival: YOU DO NOT F*CK WITH A LOVECRAFTIAN CREATURE (in both meanings of the sentence)!!!

By now, he should have realized, that Lovecraft was not exactly spot on about a lot of things.
So maybe he should reevaluate that lame stance towards cute alien girls. Lovecraft's description of Nyalothepians could be as flawed as his impression of Cthulhu land.

How is this any different from the angels, devils, robots, mermaids, catgirls, aliens, goddesses, ghosts, zombies, headless women, and all other manner of the supernatural and inhuman in romantic comedies?

This anime is abominable enough to force a failed SAN check in author of cosmic horror genre. If that is not epic then I don't know what is.
The author has failed many SAN checks before he even wrote his first story.
