Dare I ask how they try to explain the random elf and cat ears? It's impressive how many fetishes they've managed to haphazardly thrown in there.
The AK line all are catgirls, and since those girls are both AK derived, they have funny ears as well.
If you notice, all the grils from the same family/design/company all have simular looks to them.

Seems they copypasted this from Wikipedia and just changed the caliber... and changed it wrong. Besides, all the other characteristics of a gun change when the round it uses is changed, so they should have looked up a different set of stats for the export version.
5.56x39mm is the round AK74xx series uses.

RK-95 is 7.62x39, same as AK series. It can even use AK mag. There's civilian 5.56x45 variant, but there's no such caliber as 5.56x39. Closest would be 5.6x39, (.220 Russian), but that's civilian hunting round.
Sako is actually supposed to be the rare export 95 chambered in 5.56x45mm. It appears that the animators messed up though - they copied Sako's stats from Wikipedia, which has the standard version's stats, and just altered the caliber, messing even that part up, without touching the rest. (Except they also they increased her weight by 1 kg for some reason.)
Anyone who likes this for the guns should just put a loaded one in its mouth and pull the trigger.

Military may have it at this price, as they order guns in huge batches, and mass production can do miracles to unit cost. And since USA have more than one big gun manufacturer, they have freedom to chose the one offering guns at lower price.

It's not impossible to get M16 for only $300. Weapons were part of cold war "humanitarian aid" to friendly regimes from both USA and Soviet Union. Thanks to that middle east is is full of them. M16's were imported to lebanese militias on such quantities that they would glady sell their surplus stock off for little money.
It is intresting to note that the price of weapons fluctate in the middle east depending on how unstable the situation is. Recent conflict there has certainly increased weapon prices.

"Otaku" is actually just a term for people who are obsessed with SOMETHING, like train otaku, military otaku, etc... Why the word otaku, without any prefix, has become a term for anime/manga otaku specially is a mystery to me... Maybe they overwhelm the others in numbers or something.
