Girl Falls “Into Cavern” Through Chinese Pavement

The dangers Chinese face even walking down the street have once again been highlighted by a video showing a girl being swallowed up by a Xi’an sidewalk.
The video:
A “cavern” had apparently opened up under the pavement, which the girl discovered by walking on it. Fortunately, a passer-by soon rendered assistance.
The girl apparently escaped both injury and a magical journey into another world.
Whether the cavity was the result of a freak accident or a China quality sidewalk is not yet clear.

Dude, LOOK at the hole. That ain't a sinkhole. Sinkholes are caused by running underground water eroding the soil until the ground-top buckles. Because of this, sinkholes are NOT uniform in shape.
THIS hole is VERY uniform in shape. What it likely is, is an old manhole cover-less sewer access that the sidewalk pavers simply paved over. After a few weeks-to-months of people walking/riding bikes over it, the bottom of the pavement crumbled inward and weakened just enough to be able to support its own weight, but nothing more.
Anyone who does such shoddy work deserves to be drug into the middle of the street & shot.
Odds are they have worse, they're probably still living in China.
Or maybe someone had the wonderful idea to be funny and dig a whole in the pavement so some unlucky Chinese fuck got well.... fucked.
Yep, though it's possible the manhole covers were stolen for scrap and paved over by someone else. It did look pretty thin. Perhaps they just covered a sheet of cardboard with a thin layer of cement. :)

I've heard people blaming the girl, that she should have been watching where she was going and should have seen the place was marked off. Uhhhhh.... except it wasn't marked off. At all.
No, it's very easy to spin this one beyond what it was. Fact is that this never (correct me with link if wrong) happens in America. We have had entire cars (which are much much heavier than a person) go through streets because of a sinkhole.
Not just a person going through what is supposed to be a concrete sidewalk (which even considering no dirt under it, should be stable if more than 1/2 inch thick with the average person on it and the hole is no larger than 3 feet in size)).
