Doraemon’s Condom Withdrawal: “Late & Inappropriate”

Outcry over a 2 second condom scene in kiddy anime Doraemon has forced Shogakukan and Warner Home video to issue a recall and an apology.
The scene in question:
The last line of the text reads (loosely) “the load at the time of a condom” and appears to be a tortuous pun based on the the earlier text’s reference to “electrical coupling.”
The publishers apologised for showing a “word inappropriate for an animation for young children” and have promised to exchange affected DVDs for a non-corrupting version.
The scene in question originally appeared in a 1979 episode of the show, but was made available in 2009 and 2011 on several DVD releases. Production staff say the passage was “put in as a prank.”
That it took 3 decades for them to catch on is also evidently causing them some embarrassment:
“We offer our most heartfelt apologies to any who were offended by this scene, and profoundly regret having failed to detect it for so long.”
Whether international releases are affected and whether anyone cares about the sin of contraception being mentioned in a foreign language is not clear at this stage.

I could have sworn that Doraemon shows used to depict Nobita's lust for Shizuka in a bath tub, ACTUALLY SEEING Shizuka in a bath tub, Nobita getting wind of his father's porn mags, and his friends generally running around naked due to some device mishap.
Kids today are getting increasingly too sheltered for their own good.
Not to mention peeping on Shizuka with various gadget from the future, fantasizing using gadgets to "remove" Shizuka's cloths etc etc.
Heck, I read Long Volume 6 at the age of 8, where Shizuka's titties were drawn.
I'd say it's the other way around. Kids today aren't sheltered in the sense of being naive at all. They know all about this stuff. The internet makes it laughably easy even when you don't look for it.
So parents realize their kids are getting exposed to things, get all worried and start over-reacting by protesting everything. They end up making a big deal over something entirely pointless since it isn't the cause to begin with.
Just look at some of the older Disney films. The original box cover for The Little Mermaid has a picture of a penis on it, one film that I can't remember the title to had a 2 second porn video in the background, etc.
