Ignoring that historically Christ rose from the dead and is eternal, there is a major difference between visiting the grave of a loved one and creating a shrine for a typical character made to sell manga, DVDs and merchandise. It's sad because it's lust for a drawing which causes some limibic system generation of attachment. It's using natural mechanisms unnaturally. Real people actually exist, but they require initiative and work. Relationships with real (adult) women lead to mature self actualisation and families which are the basis of human civilisation.
Of course there's also nothing wrong with a bit of fandom here and then, as long as one realises one is doing it just as a hobby and it doesn't replace real relationships and commitments to real people.
