    I've been thinking that since the beginning of this series. In the old series she at least came across as a woman smart enough to swindle people out of their property without having to jump into bed, but in this one the screens make it seem like that's all she knows how to do. Thanks to that, I have near no interest in watching this, since it's probably just going to waste my time and piss me off.

    Planning on it once the series finishes airing. I was without internet for a little over a year, so I'm going to spend this season catching up on last two seasons before this... if I can manage enough free time, I should be finishing it all up just as this season is wrapping up. "Near no interest" doesn't mean I'm not going to check it out, it just means I'm going to go into it expecting the worst. Being a fan of the old series is keeping me from having absolutely no interest in it and is going to make me check it out to be sure.

    Hmm... few hours and my reply still isn't showing...

    I am going to confirm for myself, once the series is finished airing. Never said I wasn't going to watch it, I only said that my interest in it is nearly none, which is because of how Fujiko seems to have been changed. I'm actually not watching anything this season yet =/ that's only because of my backlog of shows though (I didn't have internet for a little over a year).

    There's been plenty of shows that I thought I wouldn't like and still watched just to make sure and ended up liking them. I'm not stupid enough to just write things off without actually checking. The problem with this show is slightly different though because my love for the old version is likely going to cause me to be overly critical about certain things. Though really, if Fujiko turns out to be the way I'm fearing, then even if I wasn't a fan of the old, I still wouldn't like it. =/

    looks like a classic case of today's anime not grasping the concept of balance or fanservice delivery.

    old school Lupin was awesome because it balanced other aspects of entertainment along with good 'ol fashioned fanservice.

    nowadays any anime that has fanservice is absolute shit without it. and even the fanservice that is shown is way overdone and poorly delivered. you see nothing but cow-sized tits or otherwise ridiculous proportions, ultra zoom ins, or obnoxious dutch angles

    I'm a Red Jacket Lupin fan, also I much prefer the Geneon/Pioneer dub cast, don't mind if Goemon's dub VA was replaced but if everyone for Lupin, Jigen, Fujiko & Zenigata were to work on this I would watch even without the bare tits, can't beat Epcar, Ruff and the other two (can't remember names). Or they have Lupin join with the other guys and anagonize Fuji like usual, that might help and hopefully will happen in future eps.

    Considering how the first lupin made his appeareance in 1905 and seeing how lupin III started 1969... which leaves lupin II (never heard of him before) at around 1937... we should be at Lupin IV since 2001. Or maybe we will only hear about Lupin V in 2033. Who knows...

    Oh... and that one anime about lupin IV and holmes IV or whatever doesn't count.

    I would've rather had one about Lupin & his crew or Zenigata than just Fujiko encountering them as I always found her to be one-dimensional compared to the rest of the cast with her only major trait being a femme fatale that seduces and double-crosses people.

    If it wasn't for the character Fujiko, we wouldn't of have Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop and many others like her. Fujiko was the original.

    But every character from every lupin anime ever made is one-dimensional. (I watched a lot, starting in the 70s) Fujiko having boobs is what makes her better than the rest.

    I hadn't considered the similarity until you worded it like that, but Nami is a lot like Fujiko it seems. I don't know if Nami followed Fujiko's development similarly. I don't exactly know the dynamic with Lupin because I never watched the original, but it strikes me that there are some similarities to One Piece, so I wonder if there was some inspiration.

    Even the breasts are present.

    I have to say compared to the other Lupin anime I have watched this one is below average in terms of animation values, I mean what is up with all the hatching lines? This is strongly reminicant of watching FMA Star of Milos or the poorly drawn episode 3 of Gurren Lagann. Seriously are the anime studios just plain lazy or something these days!?!

    You're not understanding the flow of the story. In the original Lupin the 3rd, all of them were together sometimes. This story is centered around Fujiko in how she met each teammate in each episode. People need to chill the **ck out, seriously. I'm pretty sure they will do a episode with all of them together, because it never explained how they came together in the movies, ovas or the tv series. This Lupin the 3rd was meant for people that is 30 and up, no one younger than this because all the young people complain too damn much to give a shit.
