What's odd about it is that it isn't odd. In other words, most seiyuu do some sort of "anime voice" affectation - they take a tone that's not quite normal. What this actress is doing is a very normal female voice - which seems very out of place in an anime.

Much like the manga. Mikoto rarely shows, her girly side. She's almost lacking emotions towards Akira. But she does show it when she is jealous. That is why I like the manga. You want to read more and further more to find out about her. For those who read the manga, where are her parents......
She's Yoshitani Ayako (吉谷彩子). I guess this is her first anime role. I might be a bit odd here, but I appreciate her unaffected voice. She's young and cute, too...
