Tony-designed fantasy anime Shining Hearts has surprised many by being not an RPG-derived heroic battle anime but instead a love comedy bakery anime (although this might be expected from its “The Bread of Happiness” subtitle) – and by many accounts the best one this season, not that competition for this position is all that intense…

It is amazing that this anime captures the art style of Tony Taka. The girls and their eyes are so gorgeous as ever.
Tony Taka's style is pretty much anime in the first place. Nothing amazing about that.
@02:37 I don't think you understand what he means. Tony Taka obviously draws in an Anime style, but It's a matter of getting that unique art style of his done right in an Anime. Basically, this Anime did a great job of adapting his glorious art. Oh, this is also done by Production I.G.
Pro IG??? You have to be shittin' me.
I just went over to watch it and there are so many stills in the very first episode(you know, the one all studios usually try hard to impress audience with).
I'm not pro IG, but they do some amazing stuff from time to time. Their also incredibly good at adapting various art styles in their Anime.
meh... most, if not all, of his designs are pretty simple pallete swaps on the same base...
while (very) nice and pretty from time to time, i find his quite dull, and boring...
pretty much like this anime, but it seems disagreeing (without rudeness)is enough to get flagged as a troll apparently.
Holy shiz, I was looking at the picture and it reminded me of Tonys' work(I don't know what this anime even is). Look down at comment, I was right, OHHHH YEA.
Tony Taka's Art with lots of Pan(tsu)?
can't wait for blu-ray version..
There wasn't any pantsu.
guess you didn´t grasp the Jo(ke)...
QB jr. detected
Looks more like a terriermon-baby to me
QB Jr.
Tiffania's relative.
Suiseiseki's clone.
NOOOO Don't feed the babby QB!!!
Then all of them will have buttery orgy in the bakery. YAAAAY!
Am I seeing this right...?
It's been a long time, but I noticed at least two characters from the PS2 game Shining Tears. Baking can't be all this anime's about, is it?
Nope. it'll turn into a more conventional fantasy battle show later on, episode 2 or 3, seem to be the estimate.
When a bunch of pirates invade the Island looking for this girl, that the Baker-dude and his friends have taken in.
All of this is just to create a clear image of what their lives were like before, and what it ends up being.
Bit like the flashbacks in Valkyrie Chronicles, with Alicia working at the bakery. Or Welkin chasing after another insect so he can study it.
I hope something interesting happens, I hate these characters so much already I hope the pirates make them fight each other to the death.
Well.. Baker-Dude is also described as a Swordsman.
And the ladies mentioned during the episode that they forgot to bring their weapons along, when they left the city, this due to the Guards warning them about a Beast attack upon a previous supply wagon.
So something tells me that the ladies aren't exactly push overs either.
So the pirates may have bitten off more than they can chew by challenging the Baker and his friends. :P
And while most of the characters may be a bit bland thus far, no real reason to hate them. Unlike the Male Elf, who was indeed rather rude.
As much as you may dislike someone, if a gift is given as a gesture of good will, than it's rather rude to refuse it. Just accept it and toss it in the bin when you get home, if you have no intention of keeping it.
Hmm... Was hoping this would be the prequel to Shining Blade. (ergo: everyone dies)
Thanks for clearing it up for me. I assumed it was going to be a lot like Shining Tears x Wind, and was a little confused by the calm and peaceful nature (although I did enjoy it).
It reminded me a lot of Valkyrie Chronicles because like Rick, Alicia was also a baker before the war started and turned everything topsy-turvy. I definitely look forward to seeing the rest of this series.
So, I decided a transcription on this episode:
pan pan pan pan Rick no pan pan pan pan pan Oishi pan pan pan pan pan Oishi pan pan pan pan pan pan Rick no pan pan pan Rick pan pan pan pan pan pan pan pan Rick no pan pan pan pan pan Oishi pan pan Rick no pan pan pan pan Rick pan pan pan pan pan pan pan pan Rick pan pan pan pan pan pan Rick no pan pan pan pan pan Oishi pan pan pan pan pan
it is also the only baking anime season so ofcurse it would be nr 1 out of 1 !?
HOLY SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT
mind = blown
I'm still not convinced that it's the best baking anime this season, though. The best fantasy baking show without a main character that's a goat, sure, but more than that? I just don't see it.
I can dismiss the first ep as just introduction and it doesn't really have to have the rpg action at first. But the 2nd ep better starting picking things up and introduce the rpg fights im looking for.
I'll watch anything with Tony Taka's art.
Seriously, this looks pretty interesting. Hopefully Maxima and Hayane make an appearance.
The similarity comes from the hentai I watched the other day. I knew it!
Tony's art is awesome, everybody agrees with that.
It works as a picture, but for animation....
@Chen-04 I disagree. The Hentai OVA Fault!! looked pretty damn good in animation, and the art was great.
We may also disagree upon what qualifies for good animation. I think Cream Lemon was good for its time but nowadays some of the best they can manage is kyoani stuff, which really isn't all that great.
it's not we got to see anime with this kind of quality always. lets just enjoy it shall we?
You can tell how samey it is because the expression never vary, and the eyes are always perfect horizontally flipped and then skewed/tilted/resized a bit to fit if it's not front-on.
It's really fucking lazy and not fun to watch at all.
You think you know it all? think you can do better? Please do. You would be a rich man.
Saying "Do it better yourself" only shows you can't take criticism or you get upset that someone doesn't like the same things as you do. He doesn't need to do anything better to give his opinion on something.
Good stuff doesn't make you rich. Selling your (possibly really bad) stuff makes you rich.
Come on - is no one as excited for Eureka 7: AO as I am? The animation of the first episode was beautiful.
Yeah, not gonna lie, I came here for the Tony art. I wasn't dissappointed. :) As "plain" as the story is (based on the first episode anyway), im still liking it.
THE ONLY........................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Bitches love Rick's dick...err..I mean bread!! ^_^
Seriously, I beginning to think Tony Taka created anime.
>_>
well, duhh..like there's any other bread stores out there right now
"Best baking anime THIS season"
Yes... The only one...
inb4 it turns into an ecchi titfest to get moar viewers
A second season of this would be called "Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan Tsu".
*ba dum tsih*
Another anime with lots of cute and hot girls with a faggot male protagonist.
Is it just me or does the second last image (n. 63 or the third) look like Kana from Minami-Ke???
044 = Haruka Minami
063 = Kana Minami
Oh gawd, Tony Taka.
Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro
Fault!!
Mitama: Shinobi.
and more, ohh GAWD.
is not Hentai but i love it.
i guess most hentai artists get their works got adapted to anime.
So moe, I can't resist! I will watch this.
