Little Busters! fans are still smarting at being denied their much hoped for KyoAni adaptation, and much fuel has been poured on the flames with the news that they were “too busy” to undertake the project, leaving fans stuck with JC Staff.
A comment from the CEO of Key operators “Visual Art’s” on Twitter set things off:
“Good evening! I’d like to ask about the Little Busters anime adaptation – why wasn’t it KyoAni?”
“Because they were busy…”
He tries to put a brave face on things:
“I understand your worries and expectations of anime companies. I and the staff feel the same way.
However, after seeing how enthusiastic JC Staff and company were about doing it, we decided to entrust our beloved title to them all the same.”
To say this is rubbing salt in the wound for Kudo fanciers is something of an understatement:
“Give us a break!”
“He was basically saying it would have been best for KyoAni to handle it in interviews…”
“I think it’s just pretence. KyoAni probably doesn’t want the hassle.”
“He said he most wanted them to do it but they weren’t available in another interview.”
“I bet you lot would be up in arms if they changed the seiyuu around because they are too old.”
“I think as it stands KyoAni can only put out decent anime, so they couldn’t manage Little Busters.”
“They don’t want to do any more eroge I bet.”
“It’s KyoAni’s fault for being busy! Blame the K-ON! movie for keeping them busy.””
“But I really wanted to see KyoAni’s Kudo…”
How JC Staff feels about the endless complaints about KyoAni not adapting the title is not hard to guess.

So can I assume Haruhi season 3 and K-on! Season 3 soon?
FMP 3rd Raid!!! *gasp*
Oh well who am I kidding.
People weren't expecting a second Last Exile, or Moyashimon Returns.
Hyakko 2~~
Haha. Moyashimon Returns. Wtf.
People didn't want it, either.
Yes, where's my third season of FMP!?
Be it 3rd Raid or Fu-Fumoffu, it matters not. 1st and 2nd Raid were great plot-driven mecha shows, and Fumoffu was the most perfect, masterfully crafted filler collection ever. I'll greatly appreciate either.
And then KyoAni release FMP : Fumoffu 2!
3rd. What's in Fumoffu stays in Fumoffu. Pony.
@anon 17:21
nah, I'd say the first one's more likely to be discounted than Fumoffu, due to it being done by Gonzo instead of KyoAni. It is also plausible that one could say "third season" by mistake, especially considering the latest installment (and the real third season, incidentally) was titled "Second Raid".
Err.
FMP already has three seasons. Or are you ignoring Fumoffu because it wasn't "serious?"
I support your reasoning! At least I damn well hope it's Haruhi S3.
They are currently dealing with "Hyouka"
Hope this means they´ll do FMP next cuz Gotou is the writer of Hyouka
Hyouka is only a replacement for the scrapped third season of Haruhi. Fuck Kadokawa.
Yes, because everyone wants milked cash cow crap instead of quality stuff like LB. Fuck kyoani
KyoAni can't count to 3
Like Valve
Lucky Star needs a second season!
i doubt haruhi is coming considering most people hate aya now -3- haters be hatin
most people hate aya now
Otaku not humans, and today they will have a difficult night.
How difficult would it be to replace her as the VA? Just work in a previously recorded sound clip, digitally insert a loud cough, and then complete the rest of the quote with the new voice actress.
One of the other characters might ask "What happened to your voice?" She'll answer "What about my voice?" and that will be the end of the matter.
THAT SIR IS GENIUS =))
Am I the only one that prefers JC staff over kyoani?
They're just known to over do it with the fanservice and loli mainly...
Anyone that doesn't know about it will just assume that it's just moe loli fanservice like Ro-Kyu-Bu either way honestly...
JC Staff puts out respectable anime. They are a pretty big company, probably with a lot of sub-teams within their production crew. Just because YOU didn't like ZnT or SnS doesn't mean anything to those JC Staff staff (lol) who were instead working on stuff like Toaru, memochou etc... and vice versa.
Fairly few shows get universal acclaim (or at least universal enough to be regarded as a magnum opus) for good reason: each is geared towards its own slice of the fanbase pie. Examples are pieces like the original Haruhi, which took the otaku world by storm, Evangelion, Last Exile S1, GITS, amongst others. Yet, even the "great works" have their nay sayers and declaimers.
Seeing how difficult it is for any show to achieve the kind of acclaim it takes to be considered one of the great works, it is no surprise that a company like JC Staff, which is big enough to handle a lot of shows per season, have a lower ratio of "good" to "bad" shows under their portfolio. This, however, in no way makes them sub standard.
They have been capable of creating beautiful animation, action scenes, faithful reproduction and even (what some consider) creative adaptations. Some of the most beautiful works they have produced include classics like Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile (which you heretics seem to have forgotten even as you guys try to criticize other otaku for being forgetful and only remembering new shows) and more recently, Toradora.
Whether or not a JC Staff produced Little Busters will be hit or miss still remains to be seen, and is partly dependant on the team working on it, and partly dependant on the actual quality of work said team puts into the show. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, the scum of all critics are those who mock a show before it has even been made.
Good day, sirs.
Despite the crazy pace Toradora was a faithful adaptation and at least compared to the first Hayate (done by SynergySP) theirs was again more faithful. Since you are a troll, I imagine the rest were well adapted too. Oh wait, Zero no Tsukaima had rather annoying changes.
I'd gladly rewatch any of these "ruined" titles from start to finish than watch one episode of lucky star.
Shakugan no Shana
Toaru Majutsu no Index
Toradora
Zero no Tsukaima
Hayate no Gotoku
...
Yeah, I just hope JC Staff make a fucking good job.
They did great ones, like 11:18 said, aswell as bad ones, like 11:37 said.
Let's just wait and see.
and here's the titles that JC staff ruined
-Kamisama no memochou
-Yumekui Merry
-Hidan no Aria
-Kill me Baby
-Nabari no Ou
Atleast it wasn't Studio DEEN.
KyoAni =/= Moeblobs
It's just that KyoAni, RARELY take more than 1 anime per season. While JC Staff usually overbooks their schedule.
IF JC Staff works it out = Redemption
IF JC Staff epicly fails = DEAD
I don't particularly like all of the shows kyoani produces, but they almost always make top notch anime production wise. I'm not a fan of k-on, but it's hard to deny that it was well animated, for example.
JC staff has a history of making a lot of anime with very modest budgets, and it shows unfortunately. Some of they're shows look good, but a lot don't. Hidan no Aria was a nightmare, in animation and direction.
KyoAni is generally a safer choice.
damn it! if i was the ceo of key i would of waited for kyoani no matter what. cause you know that they would of made it into a master piece full stop!
Jun Maeda is on the run now and with little buster gangs so don't blame Key with haste decision.
haste decision? the VN was released 4.5 years ago in July 2007
my speculation is that they probably waited many years for KyoAni to do it but probably got rejected so they go with JC instead.
Nope. I'm right there with you man.
then DIE and burn in hell!
Yes, you are.
@10:10 No, you're not the only one. I really like J.C. Staff more Than KyoAni, but KyoAni is definitely one of the best animation studios in the world. I mainly like J.C. Staff over them because of Index/Railgun and Toradora.
Yeah JC Staff all the way. All KyoAni does is just pandering eroshit.
Maximum Trolling.
Can't believe someone falls for this.
Guaranteed replies.
I don't recall KyoAni ever doing any sort of "pandering eroshit". If anything they take those aspects away from the stories they've adapted. KyoAni is such a clean studio, that's why they're well respected.
They're respected because they do great work, not because they're clean. It's fine to do clean adaptations of clean works, but censoring stuff from work that has a little fanservice in it (they've never adapted a super fanservicey work as far as I know) isn't a good tendency.
I do understand why the fans are mad though. JC Staff can do good work, but only if they really apply themselves. KyoAni stuff is pretty much always quality. As a post a long time ago said, it's because you can really see the passion KyoAni puts into every title. JC Staff has some shows that clearly have some passion in them (Toradora for instance) but also cranks out a lot of stinkers, like Shingetsutan Tsukihime in addition to a lot of the others mentioned in earlier comments. At best, it's a gamble, whereas with KyoAni it'd be a sure thing.
@SpideyPHL
they've never adapted a super fanservicey work as far as I know
uh.... Full Metal Panic?
J"MOE" Staff only make average animes. Kyoani is better.
Yes, you are the only one.
And also stop replying to yourself.
It is pathetic.
That wasn't him replying to him self idiot, that was me.
I'm happy that J.C Staff took the job, they're the best
Okay, I understand because they were busy with Hyouka, but what about P. A. Works? Angel Beats was pretty good.
Agreed, I say P.A. Works should do it. Little Busters! seems to suit them more anyway.
And Angel Beats!, best anime ever!! So, I think they could do an amazing job with Little Busters!
Angel Beats was pretty good? are u kidding me?? Angel Beats is SHIT... totally Haruhi-like character, and totally SHIT storyline
Angel Beats was shitty, I don't know why people like that show as much as they do.
I really enjoyed it. It's just a matter of personal taste.
"haters always hate" like you
Angel Beats is "honestly" shitty because it's only 12 episodes.
The transistion between "funny and "serious" is just to awkward sometimes
and I would honestly like to see more pasts unveiled
