Full Metal Panic! needs a fourth season.
Kare Kano needs a second. (It only barely covers the first third of the story, and the story as a whole is really good.)
Now one that definitely needs a third season (discounting the OVAs) is Genshiken. The manga has been gloriously revived and they haven't even made it to the end of the first run~!
I wonder how many of these are not based off of manga? I wonder if that has any sort of impact?
Manga was revived, but to tell the truth i find it less interesting then it used to be. Still good stuff, but probably not anime worthy.
Agree , but FMP?Fumoffu is more like a spin off, So the third season applied here.
From the Begin of COMO, FMP get more serious so is still good material for another season
Index will get there, and Working should as well. It's just that Yuri Yuri 2 isn't even out "yet"...
I thought Sekirei ended on a to be continued...
Yeah, it did. But the manga is going slowly (I think; read that somewhere) so it will probably be awhile. And I also heard that the series is in danger of ending or something... but I guess you hear that about almost everything.
But Yuru Yuri only has 1 season...
There is a Yuru Yuri season 2 called Yuru Yuri ♪♪. It just hasn't aired yet. Still it is jumping the gun to put it on a list like this.
They saw the future.
I saw it too, and it is filled with nonsense.
Just like the first season. Delicious nonsense!
Season 2 is incoming
2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
4. K-ON!
9. The World God Only Knows
12. Shinryaku!? Ikamusume
16. Spice and Wolf
K-On for me is over. It ended very well, it had a strong sense of closure. A third season would infact lessen the impact of the final episodes.
I suppose. K-ON was a story about Yui, front and center. All other characters have their own significance but Yui was central for all of them.
And Yui has graduated from school. As much as I wanna see her move into a more Beck-like story, showing her college life would mean that it's not K-ON anymore because the very title suggests a highschool club band, not 'bands' in the common industry sense.
In the manga, Yui and the other graduates have joined their college light music club. They could do a new anime about that.
First let me say that I'm not a K-On watcher so I got no idea how it ended.
But couldn't a next season focus on the new group?
Recall something about the 4 main ones graduating, but that new members have joined since then.
on the contrary
i think another season showing the girls in college would be an enrichment to the franchise
no matter what people say but character development is a strong point of the series and i would really like to see how they develop further in college and also how azu copes with the loss of the 4 girls
Azu-nyan has Ui and Jun plus some new members and friends like Sumire and Nao. As for the HTT girls in college, they have a fellow band called OnNaGumi and it consists of Akira, Sachi, and Ayame. With this, season 3 of K-ON is totally inevitable.
Another Season of K-On could be pure troll. All the K-On Girls get boyfriends in college which would destroy any sacred virginities that they might've had or will have. If the K-On girls end up having lives of their own it will be over.
K-On probably needs new people kind of like Genshiken.
What's up with these Type A otakus downvoting people just because they favor Type B animes like K-ON!? Are these plot-loving otakus this hateful towards us?
No idea, VVayfarer's Yuri Alter Ego.
Like I said, I'm not a K-On watcher myself, that type of show I personally find rather boring.
But, I do know that others DO enjoy it, so I step outside of my own interest circle and step into theirs for a moment and look at what is possible, so they'd be able to get what they want.
A similar situation with Sekirei, Sangoku Basara, or Gunslinger Girls shows I do enjoy, I simply see some serious obstacles in the way for another season.
So I'm not quite sure how the makers could pull it off. Doesn't mean I don't want them to prove me wrong. Quite the contrary really.
Just that it's not an open and shut case, unfortunately.
Heck, someone mentions GitS below and I agree with them, that show deserves another season as well.
So does Chrome Shelled Regios, seeing how rich the background of the created world is.
And as I also mentioned, Strike Witches still has that damned Big White Elephant in the room, with regards to Miyafuji's old man, and whether or not he's really dead, as the whole letter routine and having perfected an engine he was still working on, when he supposedly croaked, seems to suggest otherwise.
Not if they make it like a whole different series. Like with new characters that re-create the Light Music club. And the original light music club members try to show them the ropes or teach them how to play or something. But even if Mio, Yui, Ritsu, and Mugi graduate, Azusa will still be in the club because she's a freshmen when she first joins.
unless 3rd season is strictly Azu-nyan.
@22:12: You aren't missing nothing. k-OFF sucked very much (unless you got a IQ below 80).
The K-On manga is still ongoing so there's really no reason they can't do another season in a year or two.
Not sure about sengoku basara and kuroshitsuji since both were a bit crappy, but the rest's gud.
YOU TAKE THAT BACK! =(
NO, I AGREE WITH THIS PERSON WHO MADE THE TOP COMMENT AND IS ANONYMOUS....LIKE ME.
Kuroshitsuji II threw a lot of fans off track (Especially me) and sucked with all the new characters. I mean, seriously.
K-ON!, Strike Witches, Shinryaku!? Ikamusume, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, To Love-Ru, Yuru Yuri, Seikon no Qwaser.
A lot of my favorites are there, especially Ika Musume. Ika-chan deserves to have another round of invasion.
to love-ru darkness will be aired next season
Yes,and sadly it will be made from the same staff of the first season, that already announced it like more an adaptation with a lot of scenes cut and censored from the original manga to make the tv version suitable for all audience...
Ah and you forgot to mention that Xebec, the studio responsible for the anime versions, are one of the few that have supported the Ishihara ban...
I thought K-ON! was supposed to be getting a 3rd season eventually.
I don't even get why people think k-on was so good.. I found it quite boring myself.
Boring does not mean bad. Case and point, have you ever seen Mushishi or Texhnolyze?
@EndlessGr8
I see that k-on has fucked up your brain. If an anime is boring, it is fucking bad because people watch anime for entertainment and being bored = 0 entertainment value.
Are you suggesting Texhnolyze being boring?
I guess different taste apply.
And arguably lots of the shonen shows where you can guess the plot by knowing what's usual for the shonen themed shows, it get quite boring. Or if you've read the manga and know all that happens it's boring. Yet if could still be good.
To each his own. If you think it's boring, not everyone does. Internet arguments are pointless and make everyone look like assholes.
No, a third season of K-On has not been announced.
+100!
To love ru is getting a 3rd season ~ darkness anime has been announceddddd
code geass?
YES!
For FUCKS SAKES, YES!
With all of the petitions, and screaming and shit, not to mention the fake youtube video someone made that showed lelouch alive, this should have been near the top!
Chrome Shelled Regios~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~YEA~
FULL METAL PANIC!!!!!
FULLMETAL PANIC need new season!!! Fullmetal panic Sigma like in manga
complete with tessa getting her brains brew out
Yes, please brew her brains out thought her nose with some grinded coffee to add flavour!
(I just love it when a mistake makes an unexpected WIN)
Indeed,Fumofu was spin-off so it has only 2 real seasons. Talking of which Haruhi and K-On have only 1 season each. Minami-ke on the other hand might qualify for this list.
both Haruhi and K-on have 2nd season.
Haruhi's second season is the one with endless 8, and K-on! 2nd season is called K-on!!
Agreed, but it needs more Tessa. A lot more Tessa.
It had three.
