Wheres TTGL, kanon, honey & clover, samurai champloo???
No higurashi? Im amazed...
No s-cry-ed!? really???
FMA??? what!
No Code Geass!? Blasphemy!!!
Oh what, I see there must be a misprint in the title
'Top 25 Anime of 2010-2012' phew... I was almost worried there for a second.
OMFG NO FLCL EITHER?!?! its all fucking MOE BLOB
I fail to see how not having FLCL makes the list a moeblob list. There are some that were seriously overlooked, but people only really remember the top or most recent series from their head for polls like this anyway.
And if we're talking about just making cutoffs, let's throw Cardcaptor Sakura into the mix, wa ha ha~
Every time I see anyone mention FLCL as being even good, let alone deserving of any top lists I facepalm so hard I leave red prints.
Don't. You'd facepalm to destroy you retard head.
The list isn't 'Top 25 Anime of 2000-2012 - American version'.
If thats an American version. Where's Naruto?
Sigh... another dumbass comment from an ignorant, shallow, racist, peice of crap.Whatever country youre from im sure the U.S. is donating food and/or money to it. I personally wish they would stop financing dumbass countries like yours.
(Not the same anonymous as above) I'm from Finland, one of the wealthiest countries in the world and USA pays nothing for my country, nor we pay for USA. So, may I have the right to criticize USA?
I live in the US and hate it. Does that mean I can complain too?
ditto what this guy said... Kanon, Air, Clannad were still part of 2000 - 2012 and these shows were outright awesome!
Also no TTGL!? How can one easily forget the name of the only mecha to dwarf millions and millions of galaxies? >_<
5 Maybe
Love Hina ^^ Just since its in this range
TTGL is shit kid, deal with it.
Your mom is shit kid, deal with it
they just want to seperate you from your parents. very likely a behaviour they have because they want to rape you.
Top list of mediocre recent anime once again! Guilty Crown? Yuru Yuri? Hidan no Aria!???????
bunch of nonsense, where are the anime from early 00s? FMA? Death note? code geass? shitload others...
Hey! Yuru Yuri is a good comedy!!
Guilty Crow and Hidan no Aria... errr.... well, if Infinite Stratos is in the list... :P
Totally Agree, but a least K-On is not on the first place and that makes me happy.
K-On! easily wins out in popularity contests it seems even in NA. I personally didn't really enjoy it so much, especially when I noticed it didn't really concentrate on music. I really liked Beck for the music, and even enjoyed more DMC than K-On! on many levels.
Bakemonogatari was very unpopular at our anime viewings in our anime club. I enjoyed it, but very few did.
Ore no Imouto was generally very well received. Nothing much to say, except that I enjoyed it ^^
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was great, but not a masterpiece.
Only show worthy of possibly being named in a top 50 of 2000-2012 (that's mentioned in this list) would maybe be Ano Hi Mita Hana.
I want more Ghost in The Shell already!!!!!!!!!
"Bakemonogatari was very unpopular at our anime viewings in our anime club. I enjoyed it, but very few did."
probably because Bakemonogatari requires critical thinking skills, which many lack
"probably because Bakemonogatari requires critical thinking skills, which many lack"
Wrong.
Bakemonogatari requires a deep understanding of Japanese culture, which obviously many non-Japanese lack.
When suppressing your troubles makes you lose weight, lost snails become lost cows, or a monkey's pawn becomes a devil's hand, lacking the basic understanding of the underlying culture is what makes that show underwhelming.
Basically, it's like a show based on word plays. Once translated it loses a lot of its original qualities.
FMA and Death Note aren't on here probably because it wasn't an ORIGINAL anime (it was manga).
FMA is garbage. I'd take most of these shows over that crap.
You're fucking stupid, that is all.
Burn in a alchemical fire-you-FUCK
you're the typical shit head that faps to figmas, your list sucks! go watch moe and suck at life
You don't even know what Moe is, dumbass. Stick with your generic Shonen garbage.
FMA- Babbies 1st grimdark shounen
Guilty Crown = Garbage
Yuru Yuri = Garbage
Hidan no Aria = Really? Really? see above.
Death Note = Let down by the 2nd part.
Code Geas = Clamp no way
FMA = why not naruto instead that answers your questions.
if you put FMA (specifically brotherhood) on the same level as Naruto, I really doubt you have actually seen more than a minute of either. Hint: FMA is far superior in all areas
Naruto and FMA are way different.
If you haven't noticed, FMA's one of the very few mainstream Shonen anime, that have a protagonist that DOES NOT go through a training arc of ANY kind. He does not gain any new powers. He is the same strength from the start to the end of the manga. Yet, the plot can be developed to that much of an extent.
It's the same crap as Naruto
FMA and Death aren't good anime, they are anime adaptation of a good manga.
I'd be fine with that if this was a list of "original" anime, but it's not. The majority of anime is adapted from other sources (good or bad). So what's your point?
Yeah but an anime made out of a manga doesn't bring anything new compared to an anime adaptation of a light novel or a visual novel for example, since good manga already have "animation" in a certain way
and yet its still better than half that list...
What a PATHETIC list full of moe shit!!!
Here's what they missed that SHOULD'VE been on a REAL list.
Death Note
Code Geass
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Hellsing Ultimate
Higurashi
Katanagatari
Steins;Gate
Black Lagoon
GITS SAC/2nd Gig
Ergo Proxy
Paranoia Agent
Texhnolyze
GunXSword
Elfen Lied
Samurai Champloo
Gunslinger Girl
A lot of what you just listed requires the viewer to think. Great list nevertheless.
agreed, list could use a few replacements imo but great nevertheless
LUCKY STAR D: WHERE IS LUCKY STAR!?
Black Lagoons = errr no. Storm trooper effect + story really unrealistic done inferior to Star Wars. Star Wars >>>>>>>> Black Lagoon can't supersede a classic don't bother.
GITS SAC/2nd GIG = definitely give you that one, but too many fillers + flashes over the place miss one episode miss a lot.
Ergo Proxy = err no. Too specific. Remember this is a list for everyone to watch not specifics.
Paranoia Agent = as above
Texhonlyze = see Ergo Proxy.
GunXSword = AHAHAHAHHAHA your soooo funny. Gundam is better. Especially Unicorn.
Elfen Lied - whoa now I know you have shit taste this Anime is BAD really Bad see Mortal Kombat.
Samurai Champloo = Yes totally agree this must have been forgotten.
Gunslinger Girl = WHAT WHAT!! Huh!!! see Elfen Lied Loli don't make a show great. Besides NIKITA >>>>>>> GG make sure you supersede.
Retard or troll.
This can't possibly be serious...
@19:34
Ergoy Proxy, Paranoia Agent, Texhnolyze = "Specifics"? Don't you mean obscure? They're not obscure, BTW. Anyone that followed anime that year was more than aware of it's release, discussion on messageboards & media reviews. They can still easily be found by anyone that finds one of the dozen or so anime streaming or torrent sites. Besides, no one ever said anything about a commercial blockbuster requirement. The only requirement is that they are 2000 to 2012 releases, period.
Black Lagoon = "Storm trooper effect" & 'inferior to star wars"? Uh, we're comparing anime & not blockbuster movies....? Anyway the storyline is inferior only if you're looking for a George Lucas fairytale. If you're looking for a blend of Tarentino, Rodriguez & a dozen John Woo films then Black Lagoon is clearly a superior choice. I'll give you the "storm trooper effect", but c'mon....who doesn't love that on occassion? It's like comfort food, lol. Besides, it's offset by the poetry in motion of Roberta the Maid, the exploration of moral ambiguity & how much Rock represents the audience member. His character development is fascinating.
Gun X Sword was a refreshing change from the angsty, emo-tarded excess of Gundam. (Not that I don't also like Gundam on occasion) The main character has a pair of 50lb balls & that's a plus in my book.
Elfen Lied may have been a knee-jerk choice on my part. So much colorful eye candy, though! NYUUU!!!
Gunslinger Girl: Wasn't the Loli that impressed. It was how each member was a reflection of their trainer & how some of them ultimately brought out the humanity in those trainers. (For the most part) That & the highly polished gunfights.
Now that I think of it, I'd like to also add:
Paprika
Howl's Moving Castle
Place Promised in our Youth
Samurai X
I came close to adding Gantz, but that's just too weighed down by a shitty budget & even shittier ending.
@Anon 19:34: The one with shit taste is YOU and nobody else!
Dissapointed Chihayafuru isnt higher :(
Also Gunslinger Girl is definitely too specific. But damn if that quality per episode didnt turn heads back then. 100,000 yen (supposedly) per episode sure didn't go to waste :)
you guys forgot Monster
You forgot Gintama , no wonder you're MArude Dame dA Ojisan.
monster = overrated boring show
+1000
all this lists are a matter of opinion. there's no right or wrong list.
Any list where the "Slice of Life" genre is involved can't be considered serious.
We're judging stories here, not an animated diary.
My list would include:
Black Lagoon
GITS SAC/2nd Gig
Samurai Champloo
Eureka seveN
Darker than Black (First season only)
FLCL
Last Exile
Gundam Unicorn
Soul Eater
Spice and Wolf
Gurren Lagann (A must have for this to be legit)
Hellsing Ultimate
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Toradora! (very well written, despite its genre)
xxxHolic (great stories but, CLAMP animation...)
Achiuakuna, you're a fucking idiot. That is all.
"Any list where the "Slice of Life" genre is involved can't be considered serious."
This is more of a subjective opinion...not a fact,
but whatever.
Animes like Clannad and Honey and Clover changed my outlook on the Slice of Life genre.
Erranty, you sound really close-minded and the same goes for the people who up-voted you.
I'm not trolling...just a rant on how you should think.
Clannad had a mystical aspect to it, that's not really slice of life.
Please remove soul eater the ending just sucks
General rule in life #random:
One does not take a survey seriously at all.
i would like to also mention Utawarerumono i loved that anime
you neglect to mention code geass thus even your list fails.
"Any list where the "Slice of Life" genre is involved can't be considered serious."
I like apples but I hate oranges. Therefore oranges shouldn't be considered fruits.
"We're judging stories here, not an animated diary."
Where the fuck does it say that? Don't use "we" when you are only talking about yourself. If you like stories read a fucking book.
PS: Despite all that your list stinks. As much as the original list sucks, yours is even worse. Go kill yourself.
Oh but there is, there is a wrong list.
This list is wrong!!! FACT!
As if Higurashi and Code Geass are somehow moe-free anime...
at least higurashi storyline is better than most of the anime in this list..
Supports that list
FLCL!?!? ANYONE!?! (though i highly agree with everyone else, yall just beat meh to it)
Deathnote i don't agree with but everything else i do
There are still people getting mad at Sankaku lists? They are just for fun. No reason to get all butthurt about it and post your own shit list. Take a chill pill.
And what's wrong with moe? If you don't like it just don't watch it. Or you can just kill yourself if you can't handle the reality. Recommending the latter.
Dude ssssshhhut the fuck up. I swear to God you're like a hemmorrhoid that won't die.
You misspelled a few words.
Holy shit your stupid!
