Agreed. I personally enjoyed Infinite Stratos, but it definitely doesn't belong on this list. And definitely not above Sora no Otoshimono.

bake is my fourth favorite anime of all time so it would be near the top of my list as well. third in my case. Id put hidamari and clannad above it. Lain aired in 91 so I cant include it. Just cause you didnt like it doesnt make it bad. Several of the titles in this list are quality. As it gets farther down they just become recent random okay stuff but the first half, for the most part, isnt bad. Of course more recient titles are going to win. get over it

Why have a list of the best anime of 2000-2012 if only one entry over 3 years old managed to make the top 25? Even Haruhi, the sole marginally older anime, would have probably been left off had it not been active in the last few years. I get the impression that most of those voting in this haven't been watching anime for very long.

I think they just... forget about stuff and about famous anime. They watch so many shows that while they take the poll, they don't remember a lot of them.
where the fuck is Code Geass? not even gonna complain why it isnt number 1. who the fck rates these things? seriously. this is like the top 25 best anime for old creepy otaku men who would most likely show up to little kid anime conventions
Code Geass was pretty good for quite a while, but once that "turning" point hit, everything changed too much and started sucking.
Code Geass had its moments, didn't suck till the last episodes. What about Suzumiya Haruhi? who tortured us with 8 endless eight episodes? Or did people forget already??? How did this anime made it in that list after trolling its audience?
Code Geass got ridiculous when it started using extremely contrived plot devices to further the plot. Like Lelouche telling Euphie to kill everyone in jest when he knew his Geass was prone to activating spontaneously or Mao surviving a firing squad because Lelouche commanded the police to shoot him without specifically mentioning that they should kill him in the process. Not to mention all the unannounced deus-ex-machinas that take place.
I think Death Note was better written by far, although it does decline after the amazing performance in the first half.
there where enough details presented to confirm that the geass missfired and that he wasnt aware of the missfiring possibility during a normal conversation after the red rings wear off . it ONLY missfired in this situation and thus he never "tested" the "drawbacks".
and that mao mentioned the sheer possibility of the medics because they were actually able to patch him up. he was wondering himself and thus told him the line.

Black Lagoons = errr no. Storm trooper effect + story really unrealistic done inferior to Star Wars. Star Wars >>>>>>>> Black Lagoon can't supersede a classic don't bother.
GITS SAC/2nd GIG = definitely give you that one, but too many fillers + flashes over the place miss one episode miss a lot.
Ergo Proxy = err no. Too specific. Remember this is a list for everyone to watch not specifics.
Paranoia Agent = as above
Texhonlyze = see Ergo Proxy.

Anyone that followed anime that year was more than aware of it's release, discussion on messageboards & media reviews. They can still easily be found by anyone that finds one of the dozen or so anime streaming or torrent sites. Besides, no one ever said anything about a commercial blockbuster requirement. The only requirement is that they are 2000 to 2012 releases, period.
Black Lagoon = "Storm trooper effect" & 'inferior to star wars"? Uh, we're comparing anime & not blockbuster movies....? Anyway the storyline is inferior only if you're looking for a George Lucas fairytale. If you're looking for a blend of Tarentino, Rodriguez & a dozen John Woo films then Black Lagoon is clearly a superior choice. I'll give you the "storm trooper effect", but c'mon....who doesn't love that on occassion? It's like comfort food,lol. Besides, it's offset by the poetry in motion of Roberta the Maid, the exploration of moral ambiguity & how much Rock represents the audience member. His character development is fascinating.
Gun X Sword was a refreshing change from the angsty, emo-tarded excess of Gundam. (Not that I don't also like Gundam on occasion) The main character has a pair of 50lb balls & that's a plus in my book.
Elfen Lied may have been a knee-jerk choice on my part. So much colorful eye candy, though! NYUUU!!!
Gunslinger Girl: Wasn't the Loli that impressed. It was how each member was a reflection of their trainer & how some of them ultimately brought out the humanity in those trainers. (For the most part) That & the highly polished gunfights.
