I actually like the Anime style of BRS and Dead Master more then the OAV and other previous figures. I also think the Anime is really really good. Yes it is not all BRS world, but the story is dark and has a very heavy atmosphere, which is done nicely.
Really? I liked the OVA's DM much more. She's awesome in the OVA. Her faces. When she starts smirking... awesome evil psychotic smirk.

I disagree. The Anime was great.
I gotta agree with this guy, though I wouldn't call it terrible... It was good, but not outstanding or "wonderful". The ending was a very typical one and the story was not that great. However, the 3DCG and the action scenes were great and I would like this staff to make another anime (with a better plot).
On the other hand, it's pretty amazing that a simple character illustration first became a hit song, then into a PV, OVA, Game, and now even a whole season of Anime.

The plot didn't make any sense (at least to me), and my eyes kept rolling around in their sockets with the amount of emotional err... peaks, the characters were going through for sometimes no reason whatsoever. Wasn't so apparent in the first episode so usually would've stopped around ep 2 or 3, but the animation REALLY hit the mark. It was nothing great in the end, eyegasms with some unimportant sub-plot every now and then, kinda like porn...
I do get that it was all very symbolical up to the point where it was only being symbolically symbolical as in, it didn't really relate at all in any way or context, sorry if you disagree.

BRS was hyped because of Supercell and prior Huke's design but then the story of the anime just ruins it.
Loved Saw but hated the counsellor. Why does she seem so less matured than Yuu?

the ova was good because they kept the other world a mystery which in my opinion pretty nice and focused more on mato and her relationship with yomi as to where brs and her relationship with dead master.
the anime was good because they told more of a back story to each character and there origins but half of it was focused on yuu/strength knowing about the world and the action scenes were actually top notch
in the end brs is actually my fav anime hardcore action insane moments and deep character relationships with one another

I actually prefer the ova. The anime was ok, but it was kinda confusing in some parts. I liked how Mato was the main focus in the ova. In the anime however, I was surprised half of it was on Yuu.
The OVA was more confusing that the anime. It did not explain us much about the Otherworld like the anime did. Besides, the anime has a creepy but cute blondie and a hot, ambiguously evil middle school counselor who can screw anyone's mind.
I think the ova not explaining the world was foreshadowing the events in the anime. One of the confusing parts of the anime was Yuu.

Apparently Yuu was alive during the same time the counselor was in middle school. Fast forward to Mato's time and she appears like a ghost (her house disappears), but in the end it shows she is a new student at the end joining Mato's class. Another part is when Strength fell in some random hole in order to stop Yuu from killing IBRS.
Yeah I agree with you there. I really like the OVA because it's focused on MatoxYomi, but the TV series few last episodes switching to much on Yuu. Also Yomi presence drop down after Death Master killed. BRS TV while still good no where near the OVA.

The real Yuu switched her place with Strength so (while I don't know how it works) technically the "Yuu" Mato befriended with isn't exactly a human anymore. Heck, she didn't even cast any shadow when she kissed/headbutted(?) Mato at the end of episode 05.
