Chinese Cops Dump Schoolgirl in Ditch as “Dead Homeless”

China has been outraged by news of a policeman who ordered the cremation of an unconscious schoolgirl mugging victim found in a ditch, having determined she was just a homeless person dead from the cold – only for local authorities to just dump her “corpse” in a neighbouring town’s ditch, from which she was eventually rescued.
According to Chinese media reports, an 18-year-old schoolgirl in China’s Anhui province had the misfortune to be beaten into unconsciousness by hoodlums on her way home, and was left lying helpless in a ditch.
She was found the next day and reported to police, along with the fact she was still breathing. The police officer who responded disagreed however, and decided she was a mere homeless person who had frozen to death.
After this he turned the girl’s bloody but far from lifeless body over to local authorities, who promptly trucked it off to the next village and dumped it in yet another ditch.
She was eventually discovered and taken to hospital, having survived both her brush with criminals and the police, as well as two nights spent lying unconscious in two different ditches.
Accounts differ as to how her “corpse” ended up being dumped in yet another ditch – officials claim they ordered her carted off to the crematorium to be burned, but others claim they merely paid a driver to haul her body out of town and dump it somewhere else.
The incident sparked outrage in China, with disgust at everything from the inability of police to tell the difference between a corpse and a live crime victim, to the non-too subtle implication that dumping a homeless person’s remains in a ditch is the proper way of disposing of them.
Police are said to be “investigating” the affair – hopefully with more care than they showed in their investigations of the unfortunate schoolgirl – and have detained 4 police and local officials.

China, just admit it, at least 99% of your authority figures are human garbage. And honestly, the figure for your overall population isn't much more generous than that.
Lol, all the Chinese government cares about is the money the companies make. Do you really think they give a damn about the people ? The people at Foxconn that work up to 16 hours a day, 6 or even 7 days a week? Come on, it's China! And just so you know, European countries have far better conditions for its people than any other countries in the world. Especially the US. Many people would kill for the cheap medical services and unemployment benefits that help support the weak.
Apple doesn't pay the individuals, they pay the company "Foxconn" for their products. Foxconn is responsible for paying the individuals. Even if Apple payed them more if they don't pay the employees more then what difference is it going to make.
And meanwhile Apple puzzles over what to do with an extra 96 billion dollars they've got lying around. How about paying the folks at FoxConn something approaching a meager living wage, or at least giving them a few days off here and there?

Have you ever think about why the people at Foxconn working extremely long hours everyday? Maybe it has something to do with the Demand of Apple products all around the world.
The Chinese government is only one part of this whole problem. Even if the government officially or unofficially allows this practice, the company is partly responsible for it.

I work 16 hours a day for 2 months straight all the time. It's personal choice + corporate necessity. In case you didn't know, we DO have laws on working periods similar to those elsewhere, and if you don't like overtime shifts, the government doesn't shoot you in the head for finding a better job. Blaming the chinese government on it is just LOL. Also it kind of strikes me funny how americans go all caring for workers' welfare in one post and calls us monkeys in another.
To be honest. The Chinese government at least cares for Chinese interests. You can't deny that. Western governments -especially european- sell their own people out.

As a black american who's lived in Shenzhen for 4 years, I can safely tell you police attitudes are way better in coastal cities in China, and happenings like this actually get reported and not covered up.

There was the original responding police officer, the village authorities who assumed control of the body, the idiots who decided to have her dumped in the next village, and the driver(s) who did the dumping and drove away.
This answers the question of what is a human life worth in China? The answer is not much.
