Yeah, some of the series near the top that flat out steal from Azumanga being ranked higher then it is kind of sad..
I think the fact that it's still up there despite being old is a testament to how popular it really is. Everybody knows that in these types of polls the most recent shows tend to dominate.
Well, K-On is more recent. It's sad but it's true...
On an other hand Hidamari Sketch is really good so we still have hope.

I still remember my favorite part when Tomo throws the key to the beach house in the woods, cause apparently the trip was going to smooth and they needed to earn their vacation by spending hours searching for the key!
This is so true. Azumanga was probably the first anime to have "cute girls doing cute things cutely", and executed it perfectly. Not bad job for a former ero mangaka.
I forever have first place in Sakaki's heart.
Now only if the Azumanga mangaka wasn't such a stick in the mud and implicitly rejected a Yotsuba anime..

azumanga had serious pacing problems.
k on is very nice adaptation, but is it number 1? by sales and popularity, yea, personally working is better than it, and a channel is really good to...
If that was bad why in the hell is ranked so well?
I personally gave up on A channel. Wasn't bad, I think I'll give it another try, but I'm talking about the anime. Was the manga better or worse?
i love how my two comments got such negative responses... all because im not sucking azumangas dick.
i like the show, but it has major problems, for fuck sake it was so bad the creator himself wont let any of his works go anime anymore, do people forget this?
any 4 koma manga is better than the anime by allot, usually a 4 koma anime takes 3-5 minutes per 4 koma, while the manga you are done with that strip in 30 seconds depending on how text heavy it is...
azumanga as an example devoted FAR to much time to single 4komas, and suffered because of it.
lucky star, like it or hate it, got the pacing for telling a 4 koma down to an art form. no single bit stretched on for to long... and if you want to site the first episode, all that was in the manga, and that is specifically how you shouldn't make a 4koma adaptation, the thing that really killed it was that the whole chapter was in that setting.
Azumanga Daioh is in 7th place? Outrageous!

Kill Me Baby is getting a lot of pity votes. Especially when most people are calling it the worst anime this season. Quite honestly, I found B Gata H kei to be quite hilarious, even though the anime tanked in Japan.

Not really. She wasn't a loli, imo (B cup highschoolers don't qualify as lolis). I think it had more to do with the fact that Yamada was a girl and not guy that male viewers could project themselves onto.
Setokai Yakuindomo is forever first in my list.
For me, Lucky Star would be my absolute favorite 4 Koms Anime.
Woah... What can I say about Lucky Star... Well, for starters, I enjoy all kinds of Anime. From the arthouse classics like the works of Miyazaki, to Mecha shows, to Ecchi shows, but no matter what I watch, no Anime will have a special place in my heart like Lucky Star.
Lucky Star is one of the first Anime that I watched that I consciously knew was Japanese Animation, as I had watched CCS, Sailormoon, Digimon, Robotech when I was younger. I was simply enthralled and enamored by the charming characters, brilliant humor and the witty observations of daily life that I instantly fell in love with the series. (I'll admit that it's also partly due to my uncanny ability to relate to Konata's studying habits) Not only that, the taste of Japanese culture (well, the Otaku lifestyle at least) that I got from the show piqued my interest and drove me to seek out more Anime to consume.
If 4-panel mange are the bane of A-types, that just means A-types can't appreciate good comedy. Top-tier self-glorification by claiming any form of entertainment must be quasi-intellectual to be good.
I think the real issue there is what you consider good comedy.

The most heavily merchandised series will ALWAYS be first in these kinds of surveys. 2channers have 30 second attention spans & are easily influenced by pretty little statues & shiny objects.
Azumanga just missed the heavy merchandising era of anime. If it had been released 5 yrs. later it would be at top of every list & we'd all be drowning in Chiyo-chan figures. And Sakaki cast-off figurines!
Finally, some love for GA.
Hidamari Sketch being below K-On! makes this ranking complete shit.

Yay for Seitokai Yakuindomo, but disappointed that B-Gata H-Kei wasn't there. That's a good 4-koma for A and B-type, believe it or not.

I have a special place in my Type-A heart for Azumanga Daioh.
Yay for Seitokai and Azumanga!! id have ranked both higher... but thats just me... It speaks volumes that Azumanga is still in this knowing how short term the memories of voters are.
Now this is a SanCom top 10 list I can approve. All those previous "worst" and "overrated" lists were nothing but trolls.
Pleased to see the underrated A-Channel, Hidamari Sketch and GA on there as well.
They may not have the hype of K-ON or Azumanga, but they were all enjoyable to watch.
No Potemayo? Son, I am dissapoint.
Regardless of how much JC Staff may fudge adaptions, their adaption of Potemayo was able to bring through the humour and touching moments that you would see in the 4koma. It could easily replace Kill Me Baby of A-Channel on this list since it's funnier that both.
This top 10 is great! It helps me to avoid stupid and boring moeblob and slice-of-life animes.
