So adorable is little Azunyan that one of her admirers seems to have taken things to the ultimate extreme and actually had her tattooed onto his flank, keeping her forever as close to his heart as reasonably possible.
This level of dedication is plainly a little much even for creepy K-ON! otaku (to say nothing of what Azunyan might think of this):
“What the…”
“This is serious guro.”
“Definitely guro.”
“This is a real tattoo, isn’t it?”
“The K-ON! yakuza…”
“This isn’t real, is it? Right?”
“It looks real. The skin around it is red.”
“What kind of person does these?”
The Osaka-based tattoo artist responsible has a small portfolio of similar anime tattoos (or “ita-tattoos”).

私は私の道を行く。"I will go by my own path."
Manly words indeed.
definitely.
that's as close as you get to "deal with it" without actually saying it.
i salute this guy
Japanese wording in Kanji always manages to sound good, considering they can come across as poetic if arranged right. Even "Deal with it" sounds pretty good in Kanji actually...
except theres only 4 kanji words.
@anon 22:53-
Three if you want to be nit-picky. Watashi/atashi is used twice.
How exactly does Japanese "wording in kanji" sound any different than "wording in kana"?
Oh wait. It doesn't.
Umm... actually I would salute this guy more if he actually GOT a tattoo of "Deal With It" instead of this...
Then again, I honestly believe tattoos get pretty stupid 99% of the time. Although I'll never get like that cocksucker from Osaka calling for tattoo bans. I'll just judge them based on their actions... and this is the mark of a preeeeeetty short-sighted person.
Nope, this is cool shit. Tribal tattoos and stars and othe meaningless bullshit teens tattoo to themselfs is what is wrong with tattoos.
sir? u are a genuine fail
a tattoo isnt something u show off and be proud off
its something u value
people who r getting a tattoo dont do it for others, its quite the opposite (for themselves)
if he wants to "carry" her around, why not?
he has to deal with the consequences, not you
even if it looks stupid to you.. for him this "stupid idea" might make him happy for the rest of his life?
ooo well i guess plastic surgery and piercing could be considered sculptural or artistic (respectively), but that's opening a whole new discussion! hahaha
"But I refuse to pretend that it is somehow rationalized as anything other than vanity. "
what about those people who get inked as a memorial to someone that has passed? is it vain to permanently alter your natural state in order to remind yourself of a loved one? For many that may help them psychologically with the grieving process, to feel that that person lives on in some way.
"Eventually your work will look like shit and you'll die and nobody will see it ever again, so what was the point instead of using a medium that will last longer than you?"
The desire to have your work last forever is a truly vain idea and very self-indulgent. An artist who finds his or her work's lifespan to be of higher importance than the process of creating said work and the growth gained from that creation is not making art for themselves but instead to create a legacy. An idea that seems more vain to me than accepting the eventual destruction of your work, and being happy that you had the opportunity to create it.
Just pointing out some of the illogical points in your own judgment of why tattoos are so wrong. You do have good points though. I would agree that a large majority of tattoos today are meaningless, however there is a long and rich history behind tattoos and it is an amazing art form because it is the only one that work directly upon the human body, and permanently alters it. There is quite a bit of meaning just in that.
Must be nice up there on your high horse.
...so you're saying that anime is meaningful bullshit?
@ Anon 10:36
People are allowed to be as stupid as they wish with their bodies in a free culture, true. But I refuse to pretend that it is somehow rationalized as anything other than vanity. There is nothing psychologically or logically sound about 'carrying her around' on your body that couldn't also be said about a wallpaper on your desktop or a wall scroll that in no way has to have other people see it. A tattoo exists for others to see it, and to pretend otherwise is ludicrous. Which also adds the fact that to never show something that exists solely for others to see it is the mark of an idiot as well.
So honestly no matter which direction I go, tattoos and the vast majority of the people who get them in modern culture under the guise of some self-indulgent story they've made up about how special they are just stinks of pure bullshit. Learn to draw and express yourself, or pay the artist to make a great piece of art that can be displayed after both of you die.
It's all bullshit... they're not from a tribe, they have no reason to get these meaningless designs permanently scribed to their skins... hell, nearly every time the drawings are not even theirs, so essentially these people are taking credit for someone else's work when they say "Hey, look at this cool tat I got!" Yeah, congratulations, you paid someone of skill to draw on you... you're a canvas... that's nothing special at all. You're meaningless because there are 6 billion of you who could have gotten the same damn tat. You're not special because you got it.
At the very least I can give some minor credit to those who have their own tattoos on their body that they drew, but that's just arrogant anyway. Eventually your work will look like shit and you'll die and nobody will see it ever again, so what was the point instead of using a medium that will last longer than you?
Awesome! but I guess he can't go to public beaches in Japan with Azunyan anymore
He is both a otaku, and a tattoo-man.
He will be looked down on, double power!
Two negitives make a positive :P
Or get a job in his hometown.
Or find a job in the public sector anymore.
Well that's what happens when you're a hoodlum.
私は私の道を行く is the title of a song on one of Azusa's character albums
The song is awesome, by the way.
how can it manly when he used "watashi" rather than "ore" ?
It's a song title from Azusa's character CD. Probably not intended to sound manly.
I lol'd
Sure is walking the foreveralone path.
lol... all i can say is "Fuck" XD
私は私の道を行く。"I will go by my own path."

Faulty yakuza's boss : "Your auricular or a shamefull tattoo ?"
How the fuck is this guro? These people are f-a-g-g-o-t-s.
i'm curious about the tattooist's thoughts. their usual clients are tough and shady people, right?
tattooist: are you sure? i can draw a dragon or something
otaku: nah, i want that one...
aparantly the tattooist does a lot of anime-related tattoos.
