Pornomonogatari’s deviation continues apace, with the 9th episode lavishing attention of all conceivable kinds on one of the younger members of the cast, this time managing both the saucy and the cute in the same episode.
After getting over my intense melancholy of Karen cutting her hair, I kind of though of that scene as making a little bit of fun of the whole "Important Haircut" trope as often used in Anime, in the idea that she did the act so nonchalantly. Even though Hanekawa did the normal straight-played version of it, this matches how both Bake and Nise play with tropes. They play some strait, subvert some, and deconstruct others. You can tell that NisiOisiN is having a lot of fun playing around with tropes, and it's one of the main forms of enjoyment I get out of both Bake and Nise.
But regardless, I am in agreement with Ken Akamatsu in that girls with Long Hair look the best (and more than that, I am of the opinion that both men and women look best with long hair. But that's just me.)
@VillainousHanacha
Considering how Isin relies on this stupid trope to make sure EVERY female character in his creations winds up with the short hair he loves, I highly doubt he was making fun of it.
Get used to it. Often as Isin does that stupid "hair cuts are a good substitute for character growth" cliche, he's gonna leave the cast bald at this rate...
no denying the quality of the adaption, but its the quality of work thats up for debate, he seems to pretty much fallen straight into the trope of harem animes.
First of all, It's quite an insult to compare those two studios. When SHAFT adapts something most of the time if not all the time it's pretty damn good. As for Studio Deen? Higurashi was one of the few good adaptations by them, but they tend to wreck quite a few of their adaptations. Fate/Zero was adapted by UFOtable,(thankfully Studio Deen didn't touch this) so you can clearly see the difference when an Anime is adapted by an amazing studio.
man conflicted if I can recommend this to peeps, I dont think I can with the ecchi stuff. Shame he isnt getting rid of the tropes of perversion in haremesque animes..........
Well in that case we are banning almost every business, corporation, and company. Not to mention basically every government under the sun haha.... More
did any one else rage when karen cut her hair?
Karen moving sharp object closer to her hair.
Me: WTF are you doing
Karen about to cut hair.
Me: NONONONONONONO!
Karen cutting her hair.
Me: GOD-BUDDHA-MOHAMMAD FUCKIN DAMNIT.
Karen cutting the last of her hair off and throwing it in the trash.
Me: Why would you get rid of one of the two distinguishable features you have damn it? WHY?
Karen: That hair was just in my way for the last few years.
Me: There is no GOD!
GO TO HELL
Religion rage much?
GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL
Let's not.
Guilty Gear, Heaven or Hell
Why? Because Isin wants all the girls in his series to look identical, of course. Haircutstory would be a better name for this.
Also did anyone notice Kyuubey's cameo appearance in this ep?
SPOILER its at 8:52 on Commie release when Karen was telling Koyomi how to position himself on her shoulders and it showed the sign.
It was a Sakura Haruno moment.
Very much rage and shouting at the screen.
it's a rather symbolic scene, i think it shows how detached modern girls are with tradition, both cultural and aesthetically.

i did rage. im glad i wasn't the only one
I raged, but only because that little thief outright stole Miya Tachibana's laugh.
And Arararargi even had the nerve to utter the word "amagami" when Mayoi bit his finger.
Geez Isin, get your own imouto material.
BTW, Karen is surprisingly tall. I never really noticed before...
I crawled into a corner and started screaming.
She looked so much better with the ponytail.
Why are all the girls cutting their hair?!!?
Symbolism is great and all but it is starting to become compromising.
nearly shit myself when I saw tht when I was hvin my lunch
i thought it was funny. she wwas like oh it'll be in the way? *snip* haha. it's a shame though i did like the ponytail :/
Pai Mei sez:
"Man who fists loli doesn't have to lift a finger."
LOL at that icon!
Oh hey I missed your words of wisdom.
62.gif no matter how many times she goes up, those nipples won't show, damn...
Let's hope in BD/DVD they will let it up a bit more.
Aww, you missed the QB cameo on one of the construction signs.
And the Enterprise in space.
i did saw it, and i also got a glimpse of Hachikuji
I WATCH IT FOR THE P L O T
Is this Loligatari now?
It's always been Loligatari.
It seems things are getting more interesting with each episode!
End card = Miwa Shirow?
The ero in this is getting ridiculous. You can't even use the excuse that it's necessary to the story-line like you could it's predecessor.
SHAFT is ADAPTING this from the Light-Novel. By leaving out the erotic scenes that wouldn't be a proper adaptation now would it?!
So by your logic, the Fate/Stay Night anime was a shitty adaptation?

An article title based on a scene that lasted a whole second xD
The series getting shitty and shittier now. Massively disappointing.
The trolls are getting shitty and shittier now. Massively disappointing.
P.S. This series is absolutely amazing!
The fanboys are getting shitty and shittier now. Massively disappointing.
