I have laughed at every episode more or less. This show is as scary as a 1960's horror movie. It's on the "so bad it's good" scale on the horror things.
Since when was there even an anime that was scary?? If you're looking for horror then you're definitely doing it wrong.

I like how everyone just watches as he kills himself right in front of them. I mean come on, they could have tried to stop him at least.

"Another" may be the stupidest name ever for a TV show. Another what?
It makes sense in canon, it's explained about episode 5 or 6 I think...
Considering that Another is based on a best-selling horror novel, I'd be shocked if there WASN'T any guro in the anime.
So far - there have mostly realistic depictions of almost real death and dismemberment, that along with a following of death and guro fans.
The bloody gore of the teacher stabbing himself in the most recent episode was made quite well and he stabbed and bled in quite a real fashion - on top of that there have been no censoring of any of the violence - at least the ones I've been watching.
Unlike a certain other gory badly produced series that was censored to death....
The mystery and horror otaku are also getting a good return out of this adaptation as well because there is a good flow to the story and how it unfolds isn't blatantly cliche - so the pure entertainment value is gradually accruing. The aniticipation for the DVD/BlueRay release will mount to a fever pitch as I foresee it. Because this is turning out to be an excellent quality project.
Given all the characters are drawn rather slender, its a given to the style of the manga so it can't be helped. Even so, all the leading and supporting characters are cute in their own ways.
Fortunately everyone doesn't have rainbow brightly coloured hair memes. Which ought to lend some creedence to the virtuoisty of the story.
I've been enjoying it from the very start. And Mei has been particularly adorable as a stand alone character.
Really? I stopped watching after the silliness of the first death. There was nothing realistic at all about the way that girl fell. Maybe the later deaths were more believable...
What's truly guro is the umbrella kill in the previous episodes. That make me realize that "Never run on the stair with an umbrella !" ="=
It made me realize that those deaths make no sense at all. There is no way to die like that, unless you have one of those assassins' umbrellas.
Normally, it can't.

Not to mention the way most everything about her fall was physically impossible.
