The supposed popularity of K-ON! amongst actual schoolgirls is once again the subject of incredulity and wonderment amongst fans, with TV introducing a group of high school girls who joined their school keion-bu and started a band for good measure – all thanks to K-ON!.
Creepy otaku fans are delighted, if sceptical:
“Nice!”
“How heart-warming…”
“That wasn’t too harsh, at least.”
“Is there really a boom though?”
“Wait… Band boom amongst schoolgirls caused by K-ON! and full seats at the movie – but all the seats are occupied by men!?”
“It looks too bright for them to be actually watching anything in any case?”
“Still, focussing on girls is a nice way to cover anime.”
“You lot are their only customers though! I guess they must have a few girls watching though.”
Why these girls just don’t marry with me? 1,70 of pure 3D true.
surely only a few of us that long before SCANDAL there was ZONE.
Not as cute as their 2D counterparts.
Imitating TV. Is that really surprising?
I bet they’re making the horrible discovery that the ratio is not equal parts practicing/cake eating/hanging out, but if you really want to play, it’s 90% practicing.
I know K-ON! isn’t a documentary, but I was constantly irritated by the way they made it look anyone could learn an instrument well enough to write and perform a competent song in only a couple months without spending most of your waking hours practicing your ass off.
