Hatsune Miku fans are rejoicing at the news that Miku has seized the top spot in the iTunes charts with her latest single.
The single in question, Livetune’s “Tell Your World,” came to prominence in Google’s recent Chrome campaign, having been chosen for their soundtrack.

The tune subsequently managed to do extremely well, seizing the top spot on iTunes Japan and generating excessive amounts of 5 star reviews:
This marks her first domination of iTunes (although she has had various other chart domination events), an event which has caused much excitement amongst her fans:

Unfortunately the Apple iTunes store is one of the biggest music stores online. WHich means the most music and in turn gets the most people
iTunes usually has mostly pop music anyway, which I hate.
It would be better if iTunes were one big store, and not nation-based. If you made your account on German iTunes, then you can't buy anything from British or Japanese iTunes. Same goes for every. Fucking. Land. Dammit!

I think part of the appeal is nerdy to, such as the computer is singing. then you find out its a voice synthesizer but you at least listened enough to like it.
another part is that some of these are made by professional composers that are actually good but can do the song the way they want without the singer getting it different than what the composer wants or the song getting butchered.
You should listen to the violin version if meltdown, sometimes songs ate good regardless of who sings.
The best thing about Vocaloid is that it lets a composer get the vocals THEY envision, not the ones the vocalist feels like giving.
I mean, that's not a problem for indie composers that just happen to have a singer who's on the same wavelength as them, but for everyone else. . .
The appeal lies within the vocaloids ability to cover a wide array of music genres whilst holding its base fan core.. That and Miku is fucking awesome.
