Japanese TV has been investigating what has been hailed as the (second) creepiest train ever – the “maid train,” offering the complete maid service experience and the overpowering combination of maid fanciers and train spotters all in one carriage.
Seibu’s aspirations of promoting tourism via moe and otaku seem to have been well placed, as not only did 126 otaku turn up, the TV crew even managed to trawl up a Taiwanese interloper hoping to experience “Japanese culture” (just how Japanese French maids are and whether the heavily fetishised maid industry can be considered cultural are another matter it seems).
The train in question ran from Ikebukuro to Chichibu on the Seibu-Ikebukuro line:

A tsundere maid train could be dangerous.
Train announcement:
"Next stop is Chichibu. Is not that I really want to stop for you, please do not misunderstand, okay?"
If I board the yandere maid train, do I only have to buy a one-way ticket?
Don't be silly. You have to buy a two way ticket as always. Every day. Every single day for the rest of your life. You didn't forget to buy one today *tilts head* didn't you?
Oh you.
Soon: Police hunt man for riding in maid train.
And yet a train on a tsundere maid is good old fashioned Japanese Hello territory.
Read that as a tsundere train coloured in black and white and decorated in lacing and frills, stopping halfway on the track while refusing to arrive at the next station...
Then when it does arrives everyone yells thank you! and the train becomes embarrassed driving past the station.
overheats and explodes embarrased?
Coodere Train then?
"Would you like some snacks?"
"Oh, yes, please."
"They're over there on the shelf."
Is Yandere okay?
The yandere train makes a turn to ride on unfinished track taking it's passengers over a cliff so they can be together forever in one body.
I think you're talking about China...
A yandere train would be deadly.
~ yes, de(a)thly enjoyable.... (well for me anyway!)
some train cars are women only to prottect against molestation ... this one must have a molest car to protect otaku
maid caffe is good but not maid train? wtf?
i'm not japanese and i'm scared.
Destroy the train with Fire !
5maids 126goshujinsama ?? sounds like porn I've seen somewhere along puberty
Maid Cafe on Rails, where its all about the journey.
The pink female-only trains are creepier.
you are the japanese government, tasked with protecting vulnerable women from molesters. you can:
1: put all the vulnerable women in one train
2: put all the potential molesters in one train
Isn't it kind of biased to say that women are more vulnerable than men? these are Japanese men we are talking about.
two words: midnight express
Hmmm...
This may be good material. I have been considering other methods of recruiting members.
forget it Zura, with your way of interviewing the members, there's bound to be no one that pass
It's not Zura. It's Katsura.
How is this creepy?
This is awesome!
Misleading title is misleading.
Thanks again, SanChan...for attracting more hits to this page :)
You're winning.
NOT
how is a can of highly concentrated otaku not creepy?
Agreed, this isn't creepy at all. Everyone looks like their enjoying themselves.
This is actually kind of smart... There are sure to be maid maniacs who ride the train when they have nowhere to go. They'll end up seeing more of the world, and can't avoid actually meeting people out there.
I like it! Otaku bait attractions.
Whats that smell? Ohh it's the smell of some one making MONEY off the otaku. True Capitolism!
looks like a good premise for a hentai or japanese porno flick.
this would be better if the maids serving were actually attractive. there's fucked up smiles & retarded poses everywhere.
Hrrrggg!
Love this! Esp the cute pigtailed one with nice thighs!
They're Getting Grope Later on Lol.
"I'm not even going anywhere, I'm just here for the ride itself - and the French maids, of course..."
Is it weird that I would like to be a maid on that train? o.O;;
its all about outfit, they can wear stewardess uniform, or maid uniform, even a swimming suit, as long as they're not naked, which it will turn into a molest train
I want a maid airliner too!
I don't feel this is creepy. The ladies need work and this is a way for them to make money while providing a service to passengers. I think it's a win-win for everyone.
I don't see it as being creepy either.
Midnight Maid Train... thats what creepy!
gangbang maid train sugoi
Once you board that train, there's no coming back.
I've said it before, but I really don't get this maid thing. When I was studying in Japan, our group was visiting Osaka and we had a choice of going to Nipponbashi (where I went), another shopping district or a maid cafe. Exactly one classmate, who manages to look exactly like the stereotypical neckbeard weeaboo, wanted to go to the cafe, saying he wanted to see what it's like to be served like that. All he got was weird stares.
I usually facepalm when there's a gratuitous maid outfit or maid stuffed into an anime. This is just the next logical step, I guess.
I love the nyan pose. It never fails to cheer me up.
Though even that couldn't make it easier to swallow that the charge for rail fares these days. Even with maids! >_>
Dear Japan, WTF.
Sincerely, the rest of the world.
