    before i start. this is the smartest debate I've ever read on SC. bravo! and the part about women being less visually stimulated is completely true! you can see it in the difference in anime every day. romances designed for male audiences are heavy in ecchi and fan-service lacking complex though or scenarios, romances for female audience are heavy in plot, body language and complex dialogue designed to convey specific emotions in the female viewer.
    that said this is still a double standard because genitals are genitals, and japan supposedly censors them to protect their youth(bullshit). you can't just go picking and choosing now after all these years.

    It's a "big deal" because it's a double-standard. You know, a "do as we say not as we do" kinda thing, or in this case "censor female body parts but not male parts." It's the same double-standard that you see with single fathers of daughters compared to single mothers of sons.

    Men react sexually to women's bodies because men are very visual. Whether people want to admit it or not, women are objectified by this in these animes.

    Most women, on the other hand, don't give a flying fuck about seeing some cock and balls on some anime character. It's just normal nudity to most women and not a single fuck was given that day.

    So if they showed both it wouldn't be equal anyway since men would be jizzing all over the place and women wouldn't be getting anything out of it.

    You must be American because you sound really stupid. Most people in other developed countries aren't half as phased by nudity as Americans are.

    Women can get turned on by sex scenes in yaoi because there are sexual situations happening. If the two guys were just standing there naked most women would be completely neutral about it.

    Not actually "sexual situations happening" but the story between the characters involved in the sexual situations. If there were two random guys doing it then most women would be completely neutral about it too, but the fact that exists some certain feelings between the characters makes it very special and sensitive for women

    its really out of the norm for 2 reasons.

    1. recent anime censor almost everything they can (though all the other animes only needed censors on the girls)

    2. Japan has a unique law stating that any depiction of genitalia, real or drawn, must be censored or it can be punishable by law

    i wonder if they will get in trouble with the law with that?

    No, it makes perfect sense. You go into shounen ecchi to see female nudity, not male nudity.

    There isn't a single conceivable argument to counter that.
