Several rounds of voting and tens of thousands of (presumably fujoshi) votes have finally yielded the nearest thing to a definitive ranking of the popularity of 2011’s crop of male characters, a class of character which seems to have received quite a boost in 2011.

Not surprised by the victor. Kotetsu has a double appeal - both to the 30+ year old men who see themselves in him and to the all-age fujoshi crowd who see Barnaby in him.

If you're doing yaoi pairings, wouldn't be make more sense for Kotetsu to be "in" Barnaby, instead?
Barnaby is the pushy one, Kotetsu would be the reluctant uke not willing to try the new thing that the Seme wants to try out, and then there's the powers on the fritz thing, making Barnaby the stronger of the two. :P

Everybody loves Kotetsu.
Indeed, he has done a service to bearded characters everywhere.
Kotetsu and Sky High earned it.

This is refreshing to see a list not dominated by teenage boys.
Bullshit. I call shenanigans on this entire list.
Makes a change to see a ranking posted on Sankaku that has characters I actually like on it. Tiger & Bunny and Fate/Zero have been two of my favourites this year. Steins;Gate was good too, with Okabe being the best character in it.
And Gintoki of course. Gin-chan should really should his own ranking separate from all the rest though. ;p
Origami Cyclone? That guy is near useless.

Kiritsugu AND Lancer on this list... Well something just isn't right here. Clearly the people who voted on this list know of Fate/Zero's existence and yet somehow the most badass hero of all was excluded! How can that even be!?

Iskandar, named "Rider/ライダー (Fate/Zero)" in the list, is ranked 30th...
The inclusion of Iskander on the list would have turned the other entries into girly boys eager to be taken by him...
