What the hell are those numbers/letters they're holding up?
They're a sort of ID used to verify that the person in the picture is the same person posting. The code is unique to each poster. Really, it's meant as an identification to keep someone else from going around and masquerading as the original poster. Sort of like normal ID cards, except online, and completely anonymous (as in, it doesnt give away your REAL identity). If the two codes in two different posts aren't the same, then they're two different people. But, it can also be used in picture identification.
If a person has a copy of it in their picture, it confirms that the picture is actually of them and not some random chick they got off of google or someshit like that.
Usually, you'll see what's called a "timestamp" as well. It's just a copy of the current date and the approximate time the picture was taken. It's also used as identification, to prove that the picture was taken fairly recently (or, atleast around the time that the poster says it was). Keeps someone from taking the pictures later (months later, sometimes) and claiming it was them. Still, even though no timestamps were used here, it often doesn't matter if the "ID codes" still line up.
