Anime fans have been lamenting the wastefulness of anime which the mainstream might accept being broadcast at 3AM instead of at “golden time” in the early evening – and with their number one choice, they may have a point…
1. Tiger & Bunny
2. Chihayafuru
3. Working!!
4. Nichijou
5. K-ON!
6. Ika Musume
7. Natsume’s Book of Friends
8. Ano Hi
9. Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth
10. Puella Magi Madoka Magica
11. Tamayura -hitotose-
12. Clannad
13. Usagi Drop
14. Hanasaku Iroha
15. Hidamari Sketch
16. Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei
17. Spice & Wolf
18. Honey and Clover
19. Kaichou wa Maid-sama
20. A Certain Magical Index
21. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha
22. Toradora!
23. The IdolMaster
24. Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing
25. Aria The Animation
Although it seems Tiger & Bunny could plausibly have done better in an evening slot, whether even early airing could have saved Nichijou looks doubtful…
I agree for the most part, although it could be noted that not all of these air at 3 AM.
Hanasaku Iroha aired at 10 PM, which in my opinion was fair enough considering the low amount of fanservice it had.
I’m quite surprised ARIA (animation) aired at 1:30 AM though. It’s not something that would air at prime time, but it could have gotten a Sunday late afternoon/early evening slot. Or at least HanaIro’s time slot.
T&B and Usagi Drop could totally have been prime time slots
Tiger & Bunny,Working!!,Nichijou,K-ON!,Tamayura -hitotose-,Clannad,Usagi Drop,Hanasaku Iroha,Hidamari Sketch,Honey and Clover,Kaichou wa Maid-sama,Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha,Toradora!,The IdolMaster and Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing? Seriously? Yeah, their right, it such a waste…
not another madoka top list
I can see why Madoka’s late night material but why everything else? I remember long ago when they started airing Exo-Squad very late at night. They ended up cancelling it because no one was watching. Maybe it had something to do with it being shown at 4am, you know, when everyone is sleeping.
