I would love it if some of the mainstream fashions made their way into eroge, anime etc. In hindsight a lot of character designs lately have gotten really boring but taking ques from modern couture and street fashion could very well remedy this with the added effect of making the characters more attractive.

Not sure what Artist's you like, but most of the Anime and Eroge characters nowadays are dressed really stylish. Personally i think mainstream fashion would ruin the Artist's original clothing style.

Very interesting news for me as I actually started being fascinated by some of the clothes designs in anime; specifically Ah My Goddess.
Trendy clothes looks so much better drawn out on paper and more so on anime gals than in real life because you can manipulate the clothes anyway you want to make them look good on a character.
