Aya Hirano’s lingering career now sees her appearing on game shows billed as “acting intelligentsia” and “super-popular seiyuu,” neither of which escapes the wrath of her legion of detractors – although everyone agrees she looks cute as a button in her glasses and school uniform…
Her latest appearance, on game show “Q-sama!!”:
Online, there is a certain amount of scepticism towards a woman who had difficulty putting her bikini on the right way up being billed as an intellectual actress:

I wonder how many people would watch a History Channel special or something explaining the psychology and historical reasoning that sailor uniforms and schoolgirl uniforms can generate insta-boners for many of us...
...frankly I would very much like to understand this. Because it reeeaally is intriguing me how powerful it can be. There are many other things that can potentially generate the feelings they generate, but nothing seems to come close to things like that. It's almost like it has become genetic!
The same can be said for how catgirls are furry, and yet transcend furry in most peoples' perspectives. Have the same drawing of a girl with cat ears and tail, and then edit the same drawing to have deer antlers or something and the reaction is completely and utterly different.
I don`t see how catgirls can be seen as furries, demi-human more like, unless you are talking about anthropomorphism where a female cat would be made into a human-esqe form.

The nonstop bashing of Aya Hirano pisses me off too. Mind you, I am a huge fan of Nana Mizuki's work. The way I see it, people make mistakes. Therefore people are human.

Intelligence shouldn't be measured by whether or not you have graduated university.
As much I hope Aya get some slack from the haters I have to say that everyone else is much more intellgent than her, especially since they have a better education.
Just because someone doesn't have as much education as another doesn't mean they don't have raw intelligence. Her higher education was CUT SHORT by her career success which happened right around college age. She can still go back to school anytime.
And anyway, it's her voice-acting talent and uber-cuteness that she people pay her for. Better to be really good at something then to be only marginally more educated than a high school graduate.

The visual-kei band Jinkaku Radio's "Hikizan" song is no longer listed as the ending theme song for the television anime adaptation of Yasunobu Yamauchi's Daily Lives of High School Boys manga. This change came after the band's 35-year-old vocalist Yuuki posted a message critical of voice actress Yui Horie on his blog on Saturday.
Jinkaku Radio had announced in October that the band would contribute the ending song "Hikizan" (Subtraction) for the slice-of-life comedy series. On Saturday, Yuuki commented on a magazine cover featuring Horie and said that her appearance "isn't on the level of an idol? Not that she is a mess, but maybe cheap[-looking]?" He said that she has a "USJ [Universal Studios Japan] rather than Disneyland" look.
Fans expressed their anger online at the blog post, and the post has since been deleted. Yuuki later apologized to fans, to the anime and voice-acting communities, and to the Daily Lives of High School Boys production team for the statements on his blog.
Square Enix's official Daily Lives of High School Boys website no longer lists an ending theme song. The anime's official Twitter page stated on Sunday that Mix Speaker's, Inc. is performing "Shiny Tale" as the anime's opening theme, while the ending theme song remains "undecided." The anime's staff has not publicly cited Yuuki's blog post as the reason for the change.
