I cut down on extra costs (such as eating out, etc.) and buy the series I like (i.e. that I read online!). Having it in physical copy just cannot be compared to having a digital copy when its for a quick re-read.

When it's to work with the said images, HQ scans are definitely the way to go.

You're the reason the Japanese publishers don't like white people.

You wouldn't even be able to read it on the Internet if people didn't buy the books.

    On top of everything else
it only costs 400 yen to buy a new (105yen for used) manga in Japan for most titles.
manga is fantastic for reading on the train/bus.
people like to have their collections.
japanese police care about people reading manga online.

    One Piece remembers me DBZ.

After a challenge, defeat, power up/lvl up, then kill, then it repeats.

The BIG difference however, DBZ wasn't that boring!

Not at all. Bleach is, and I'm not normally a hater, exactly what you described, but one piece is neither formulaic or boring. Sure, they fight people in every arc, but if you think that's repetitive, never read any ongoing series ever again.

lol, Luffy wouldn't ever be able to destroy Whitebeard or Raileigh, and is way too far from Aokiji/Akainu/Kizaru, and those are just a few. Plus, when he loses, he loses good.
Goku just throws a kamehameha or a genkidama and everyone dies... and if goku dies, who cares? he can revive right away.

Complete BULLSHIT! One Piece hat more creativity and FAR FAR better writing than DragonBall. Toriyama even admitted that he made up the story as he went along with it. Oda on the other hand plans YEARS ahead and his storyarcs are perfectly written! One Piece has surpassed DragonBall in EVERY aspect!

True, but for a series to reach 600+ chapters and still be so interesting, I would probably agree with it's 1st place ranking.
Though the difference between 1st and 2nd is still pretty surprising.

    Comment by Anonymous

What's surprising about it is the fact that One Piece wasn't interesting in the beginning and only got less interesting as it continued.

I can't help but agree. If you checked multiple manga reading sites, Naruto is usually #1 and One Piece is usually in 5th or above.

I beg to differ. I think the series got MORE interesting as it went on. However the reasons manga reading sites have Naruto listed as #1 is because Naruto is more popular over here in the States than One Piece. In my opinon, One Piece's story/characters are a lot better written than Naruto's

That argument might hold water if the other comics aren't also far into the double digits. Naruto's total volumes are 5/6 One Piece's. It's selling at 1/7.

But den the Hueco Mundo Arc finished and I was like "GOD, WHY AM I STILL READING THIS CRAP FOR 3 FUCKING YEARS..."

And then, I guess, I stopped reading...
