Number 11 is by far the coolest room. Neat, relaxing, you can bring a girl over... who else wants a garden in their bed room?!
I have about 600sq feet in my bedroom alone, I think it maybe worth a try.
Rocks - cheap... about $150 to make about 2" thick. Build up for the platform with stained wood - must have skills. Lighting cheap. About $200~300. I'd say the whole room could be built for $1000~1700.

Well I dunno what they use them for, but I can tell you what I use 7 displays for. Writing and debugging high end 3D games.
It's like a drug really:
- First you write some code in a friendly IDE, everything is so nice and together.
- Then you install all kinds of add-ons to the IDE to gather better data about problems and performance.
- It doesn't fit in the IDE anymore, so you break it out into windows, using programs to split your puny 21 inch into sections.
- Well that sucks, so you add on a monitor, slave a laptop, plop down a server.
- Before you know it you've built a rig that would give a normal person nightmares.
When I say 7 displays, I'm talking 2 monitors, one is taking 2 inputs (push button swap), the other is taking 4 inputs (4-way split or use remote to change channels), and the 7th is the laptop. If I had the money to buy all those monitors like these crazy people, it would be so much easier.
me too. and imagining that each monitor is plugged in a different CPU, imagine the heat and the noise there...
There's plenty of professions where one or two monitors doesn't cut it, with 3 or so being optimal.

Haha, I've heard that story before. Not that I'm particularly interested in diamonds, but my husband said "Oh, this is a computer that you can use too! Don't worry that I'm spending all this money on it, it will be great for the both of us!" I believed him at the time, but since then he spends all his time on it and I don't get to use it for anything at all. I don't mind him spending his free time at the computer, but he shouldn't have gone on about how it would be good for both of us.
