Chinese are finally celebrating a happy tale from the chaos of their nation’s roads – the driver of this vehicle apparently somehow managed to survive the impact of a truckload of metal bars almost unscathed.
The incident unfolded in China’s Zhejiang province. The driver involved had no number plate, so upon seeing police he immediately tried to perform a U-turn in the middle of a busy road, at which point he collided with a taxi in the opposite lane.
After losing control of his vehicle he collided with a three wheeled truck carrying a cargo of steel frame, which shed its load into his windscreen.
Amazingly, he avoided total perforation by throwing himself into the passenger seat, as in addition to missing a number plate he was apparently not wearing a seatbelt either. The poles missed his head “by a few cm.”

Holy shit. If that's not a close shave I don't know what is.
wtf!!!!!!
Replace a truckload of metal bars with truckload of small Chinese children and the driver would have probably kept on driving.
Lame joke is lame, apparently since you seem to have misunderstood the story.
Uh, Anonymous? Njrg's posting wasn't a joke.... it was reality.
He may have been "lucky" and but it sounds like the entire situation was his own fault.
1-having no license plate
2-reckless driving
I don't think the lack of a licence plate contributed to the accident. Also, I should think that the luckiest driver is one of those who doesn't get involved in a car crash, no?
He pulled a uturn to avoid the police because he DIDN"T have a license plate, which caused him to collide with the taxi, lost further control, then had the run in with the bars on a truck. I'd say that yes, the license plate was part of the issue, you dumb fucking moron.
Unfortunately, the headline is as far as a lot of people read...
Headline and picture. Don't forget the picture, it's what draws people in.
Anon 2:47 , Americans can read?!
Just can't resist.
Oh China
I am not sure how "lucky" he really is. After the Chinese police and justice system get through with him, he may regret not opting for swift impalement.
A guy who can afford to buy Volvo in China... You really think he'll get in trouble with the cops, besides the obligatory bribe?
“buy a Volvo”
>no license plate
are you retarded? it was obviously stolen
Really now? Given the car he was driving, it would be a fair assumption to assume that the guy has some money. China's rule of law is still crappy as fuck so maybe he or his family have enough money/connections to buy the courts off. In this case money will probably save him given he didn't seriously injure or kill anyone else.
Well without a number plate it's likely to be a stolen car
Holy shit.. those things would punch holes into the driver's body O.o
and here I though wearing seatbelts would save lives.. this article gave me a deep thought..
Wrong Turn 4
fucking volvo drivers.
Kinjutsu Ougi - Windscreen Piercing Steel Frame!
That just goes together so well.
effect: "the enemy die"
nullified by the inane skill : "fuck the rule" B+
That should be three-wheeled "truck", since it's only technically a truck for having a truck bed but not necessarily a truck in size, not even the "small Asian trucks" size even.
China you and your trucks.
The car also looks burnt.
It might have exploded when it hit the taxi.
And the force of the blast caused it to hit the truck which then exploded it's non-flammable metal bars onto the car.
"almost unscathed" *looks at picture 3* "don't think so"
He is just suffering from sever haemorrhage
So much irony here.
I saw what you did there.
I don't it was steel not iron
Isn't steel made with iron though?
chemistry 101: iron is steel.
Iron isn't steel, but steel is mostly iron.
Steel is carbonated iron. it's strength and malleability depends on the ratio of iron to carbon.
now stop arguing and just have fun.
just ask sasha(qwaser) if iron is steel :p
The irony is that they are celebrating the survival of a criminal, where just weeks before they seemed to take the moral high-ground over criminals...
"The irony is that they are celebrating the survival of a criminal, where just weeks before they seemed to take the moral high-ground over criminals..."
I wonder what made you think that crimes such as not wearing seatbelt and having no plate number while driving made someone deserving to die.. I'm not from china, and as long as nobody died from that accident, I doubt that he will be punished with death penalty. ..someone should educate you about how valuable life is.
That is one impressive end result. Makes a nice pic ^^
Wow that looks like an attack by Gilgamesh's Gate Of Babylon except that it is not by swords maybe he kinda lazy to forge swords?
It's the Chinese knock-off of the Gate of Babylon, post-Great Leap Forward.
They had to melt down all the swords into poles to meet their quota.
Don't you just love that? Let's melt down good metal in already functional things like pots and swords to make shitty ass metal and fail at making anything decent from it. LOL at great leap forward indeed.
@Altair: so true, Caster... I mean the driver "Rule Breaker" after all.
End of Evangelion where Asuka gets skewered.
if that came from a Chinese Archer class servant then that his Ignoble Phantasm.
or the driver put the metal to the pedal.
So that stereotype about Chinese people not being able to drive well...
... is still true, he caused the accident, whether he survived or not is the point
he should just die already, people like him should just die for world's sake.
Education are a solution, not hate, kid.
While I don't agree that he should -die-, I really hope that his license is taken away for many, many years. And that the licensing authority (if they have one!) makes it damned tough for him to regain it.
He's far too irresponsible to be trusted to drive, and tbh, after a stunt like that I'm entirely unsympathetic about his close shave, I'd rather worry about whether the other people he careened into got injured.
Some people just never ought to be allowed on the roads at all. -_-
...and neo lives to fight the machine world.
