I have the strangest pudding craving right now
LOL that is funny =D
So in this season, we've got a subpar Code Geass clone (Guilty Crown) and a Death Note clone (Mirai Nikki.)
Is this how the Japanese industry understands the meaning of "original work"!? lol
The Guilty Crown is a fine example how a typical weaksauce Japanese schoolboy clone character does not work well in any possible setting. An Asuka plugsuit babe doing the function of a control center by playing 3D bejeweled with her ass also does not help.
*continuing 01:35*
Basically, at ep 2 the plot becomes a fucking mess, however leaves no doubt as to which side the main character will stick with, as the rebels fraction consist mainly of teenage characters in over-designed costumes (so they're to stick there for long) and are the only ones that include tits in their team.
And, of course, they'll win, because everybody knows that having one brown, spiky-haired middle school teen with a sword in their military organization will make any bullet fire, missiles, tanks, gundams and nukes, fucking, useless. I mean, how did the US Marines survive all these years without one!?
I'm sorry for the spoilers, everyone. How do I know all this!? It's not that I'm working within the industry or anything. I'm just GOOD AT ANIME. >:3
(By the way, I watched Mirai Nikki/Future Diary too (that's why the delay between the posts) and it actually wasn't THAT bad...
Even though the idea wasn't original, the show did not lose its plot during the 3 episodes and was actually entertaining AND not really predictable, animation's way better than Guilty Crown and there's 1 attractive girl character, too. It is also rare to find such a pure and heartwarming love story between the main characters in anime these days.
I found that show kind of... cute ... ⌐_⌐ )
"I found that show kind of... cute ..."
Well...Hell is Watting.....
Uh.. I think Code Geass and Guilty Crown's plot is totally different, If you think they're copycats because of the theme "A guy receives power from mysterious girl" I can mention tons of anime with that base settings which 've been released before Code Geass. Does this mean Code Geass concept is not original? Also Death Note and Mirai Nikki also have a different plot, and believe me, it's really fresh and original. Just shut your mouth and keep following the story, you'll soon know what I mean.
You mean 'butt-on' press ^_^
get it?
pressed the button with her butt.
LOLs
Yeah, we got that.
Next time, don't explain the joke *facepalm*
Can't wait for button-mashing episode.
I'd orgasm, I swear.
I'd press her butt-on.
this.replace(button, me.face)
I don't get if that's supposed to be VB or C#.
Kinda surprised they didn't include the tunnel crawl with Pink hair's backside waving back and forth in front of the main char, who was desperately trying not to take a peek at it.
seems like another GIF was left out...

I've seen several pink pixels like this in my days
that is probably what they think the blu-ray will have but probably with better quality
WTF? Azuka clone?
Cute AND a plot? What is this magic?
WITCHCRAFT! BURN THE WITCH!
Who made this?! I'll find him! I'll find him even if I have to burn all of Paris!
you just want to burn paris right ? what does paris had to do with anything ? XD
Because its less flammable than Tokyo
Lol, totally random Hunchback of Notredame reference FTW. XD
Same scriptwriters as Code Geass.
Does that answer your question?
Considering that the plot is identical to Code Geass, yeah.
Not quite Lelouch and this guy are like polar opposites. Whether it be status wise, motivation wise or even intellectually.
Gai, the rebel leader has more in common with Lelouch. If anything I'd have to say he's probably closer to Shinji Ikari. Just wanting a normal and boring life.
So damn right, bro.
Lelouch is awesome, just a bit creepy sometimes.
But this one, forgot his name already, is just pathetic.
Wondering why I got downvoted there?
Lelouch and his motivations drove Code Geass onwards.
That isn't the case here, where the Main Char, wants nothing to do with the fighting. He just wants a normal boring life.
Shinji Ikari was the same way, didn't want to fight the Angels. Also got beat up without fighting back. Also had an impossible crush, artistic side (Shinji music, this guy video composition and editing) etc.
Lelouch was a tactical genius, the Main Char here is just a grunt at this point.
Heck, Lelouch was a genius in general, whereas the Main Char here is rather ordinary, when it comes to intellectual matters.
And Lelouch.. Well.. Prince of the Empire vs a regular civvy, just trying to get by day by day.
Only things in common is cute girl, chased by military, ends up giving Main Char superpower so he can fight back against an evil oppressive Empire.
Star Wars has similar plot elements as well, and that predates CG by quite a bit.
And on a side note, CG could be considered an inverted Mobile Suit Gundam. Where Char (Lelouch) is the Hero, whereas Amuro (Suzaku) is the rival working for the big bad.
code geass's characters made the series entertaining. Lelouch is code geass. C.C was awesome too, something the main characters in this show lack.
I dunno, most of the anime forums/sites seemingly hate and despise the show for "tricking" people into thinking it was going to be seinen with the plot summary before it aired, instead getting a cutesy ecchi.
Have it back piled still questioning whether or not to watch it myself though, heh.
“Cute & Fairly Sexy Anime With Plot”
Thoughts *Given the last few years that doesn't seem possible*
"I dunno, most of the anime forums/sites seemingly hate and despise the show for "tricking" people into thinking it was going to be seinen with the plot summary before it aired, instead getting a cutesy ecchi."
I fucking knew it wasn't possible.
Wait, ecchi? There're bouncing boobs, sure, but there's no ecchi. At least compared to all the other series this season.
And the plot is a bit seinen at this point. Civilians were killed in ep.2, that doesn't happen a lot in shonen.
........
You haven't seen a lot of shounen have you or you don't know what shounen is do you?
"Shounen" ain't just the "superhero teenager saves everything", shounen can be romance, harem, mystery, Psychological sci-fi etc. etc.. you get the drill.. Shounen is mostly about a teenager mostly a boy (girl in rare cases) and the story circulates about this character, the show is also most often aimed at male teenagers.
I've seen a LOT of people dying in shounen.
Ecchi is just sexual underthemes.
True bullshit. Cute is here. Fan Service is here. But plot is nowhere to be seen. It's just a bad remake of Code Geass, with big lacks in the scenario, and with a motherfucking brat in the main role.
Already dropped.
Well, I'd give it some time to cook.
Even code geass took a while to hit its stride.
I do have to agree tho, this thing is so much like code geass you could call the plot for the first two episodes within the first three minutes.
Well so far I am enjoying it.. Almost all anime the plots are the same.. how many plots can they really come up with that is different than all the others that came out before it. Only thing in this one even after fighting with that power he decides that he wants to go back to a normal life and runs away basically. He has learned the lesson yet with Great power comes great responsibility.
So you can add Spiderman to the mix too.. as he has to learn this lesson it appears in this anime just like the cartoon Spiderman. So if you really think about it all Anime has mixes of others in it.. Code Geass and even some comic it is appearing, because unlike the one that reveled in the power like Code Geass he wants to run from it.
Code geass both first and second had very exciting first episodes though.
I'm curious to know your definiton of plot?
I'm curious as to why he wouldn't want a remake of Code Geass in the first place.
I'm curious as to why ANYONE would want a remake of Code Geass.
lol its hard to make an original plot that's why the word cliche exist o.O
I watched anime before it went mainstream
/drinks a pabst
I dropped code geass and i'm watching this.
^
Seconded here
Couldn't stand the art of Code Geass
CLAMP indeed
@ pic 002.gif , did she just.... you know....
Nope.
Essentially they remotely jack into their Mechs through a neural interface (It's a bit like the Major hitching a ride with a Tachikoma and using their camera's as her eyes, to use a GitS reference).
She just got pulled out by her Operator before she had her brain scrambled, because her mech got mauled, and said damage is also translated back to the pilot and can, if severe enough, kill them.
And on a side note, that girl happens to be paralyzed from the waist down. Normally she uses a wheelchair to get around.
Sounds like the Matrix
go deeper : matrix is already a compilation of past sf books /action flicks
I thought to myself "She's the first official bad ass of the show because I can picture her saying when she pilots her mech: See mah skillz bitches I don't need legs to pilot this shit " XD
That Gai fellow already laid claim to the title of first official bad ass, by beating the crap out of 4 armed thugs, who were trying to rob the Main Character of an item he was trying to deliver.
And by beating the crap out of, I mean complete and utter roflstomping, as I believe the term goes.
Having said that Gai isn't a very nice chap all round, whereas that gal.. Looks like her heart is in the right place, unfortunately she's got a crush on that Gai chap, and something tells me that this fella won't be as nice to her as Lelouch was to Kallen.
Yeah he does seem like your avarage knightly leader with a dark side.
This is what I find difficult to believe about it. Why would you design a system that fed pain and trauma back to the pilot? It kind of defeats the whole point of having them remote in the first place.
Yeah it's not very clever, in NGE it seemed pretty logical but here? Also the mechanical designs aren't the best.
Why do you think we have pain and trauma in the first place? Because that increases our chances for survival. You get hurt really bad, you don't rush forward, you retreat. That works for a robot just as well as it works for a soldier.
Also, Evangelion did it, so it can't be wrong.
Most likely?
It's an unavoidable side effect of the technology. In order to allow for complete control over the Robot's movements, and allowing it to move like a human could, they have to plug in the entire brain.
Also keep in mind that they can pick things up, and that does require a delicate grip, more so than normal controls could afford. With the latter you'd have to do it slowly to prevent the item from being accidentally crushed. Due to the whole hydraulic pressure in the grip vs item structural integrity.
The human hand at the other hand does this far more effectively, due to the whole sense of touch thing, as you can feel if the material from which the item is made, is beginning to break, thus you ease off.
All in all, it looks like they hence have to use the entire human brain for the interface. Yet that does mean that the pain/trauma thing ends up being used as well.
Still from a military pov, it's not that ineffective. You have Operators who watch the pilots and pull them out, before serious damage can be done. Unless it's something like a 1-shot, in which case nothing can be done at all anyway. But enough of that tangent, skilled pilots are probably harder to find than machines. Yes, the loss of a machine means the loss of X money amount. But replacing a machine is easier than finding another veteran/elite pilot.
It's almost like the situation in GB during the Battle of Britain during WW2. Losing a pilot was a bigger deal than losing a plane.
