A brother who raped his little sister 22 times has been spared the maximum sentence by his own sister’s plea for leniency.
The incident occurred in Taiwan’s Miaoli county, where a 19-year-old youth was found to have regularly raped his little sister, in the 6th year of elementary school, a total of 22 times over a 6 month period.
His crimes were supposedly prompted by him watching pornographic films, after which he would assault his sister as she bathed or slept.
As their parents were rarely home as a result of their jobs, it took some time for his conduct to come to light. His sister bore his attentions rather than report him.
After his arrest and conviction for multiple counts of rape, his little sister reportedly asked the court for leniency in sentencing:
“I want you to give my brother the chance to make a fresh start in life!”
This, coupled with his apparent strong remorse and the further intercession of his mother, caused the judge to sentence him to 8 years in prison rather than the 10 years the prosecution sought.

The fact is that unless you have a genetic disorder that runs IN YOUR ETHNIC GROUP, having children with a brother or sister will do NOTHING to make it more or less likely that you will pass that genetic condition down to your children or a genetic condition will suddenly 'pop up'.
In fact, some people who are very knowledgeable in this have said that picking a random stranger to have a child with is more likely to have you have a child with a genetic disorder than picking a brother or sister to have a child with.... hell, even a father or mother, aunt or uncle!

I'm glad to actually read something by someone who knows what he/she is talking about. This is entirely true and I studied about birth defects in college in which I found out that all of those so called scientists claiming genetic defects in babies born of incest were full of BS. I wish people would call out all of those lying bastards about their pseudo science and stop them from spreading their false claims.
PS. Incest is only a religious issue and a choice that should never be forced on someone for or against since just like being gay there is nothing wrong with it and I believe people have the right to choose who they love. In case anyone has forgotten, if a particularly bad recessive gene is possessed by one family member, then chances are it is possessed by other family members as well:
1. If you're doing your sibling, both of you may have that recessive gene from whichever parent & give it to any "accidental" children.
2. If you're doing a 1st cousin, each of you has 1 parent that is a sibling of the other's parent & both parents may have that recessive gene from their mother or father and gave it to you & your cousin.
3. Same thing with doing aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews.
I imagine that the more removed in relation you are, the less likely both you will have the recessive gene, but the chance is still probably high enough that you should take extra care not to have any kids with the grandchildren of your parents' aunts & uncles.
