Lol, we'll never see the end of this what's-top-and-what's-not debate that seems to to go on for eons. The older generation will be nostalgic of the classic titles that never made it on any recent lists while the new gen will usher in more moe and cute titles that just makes the older gen feel older. The slightest rebut and a wall of tl;dr post ensues, proving their shit is better that other peoples taste in shit.

What they are trying to say is that for a list of the top anime from this past decade, there is a disturbingly large amount of mediocre-average anime series that are being mentioned only because they are recent series.

There was many very good animes in early 2000s. Galaxy Angel and Azumanga Daioh, somebody maybe remember these, to name only two?
They just have very bad memory. FLCL missing says it all. Even Elfenlied is already forgotten.

Well, it was worse than the manga, I do agree. But it actually wasn't that bad.
And in fact, there are a tad too many new titles. But whatever, no "top something" list is unbiased, and if the majority of people consider those to be the best shows, then so be it.

I've watched like 1/3 if this and it seems more balanced than other lists but some are clearly wrong.
Sora no Otoshimono is terrible. If you want really good plot Baccano and both versions of FMA were great, if you want fan service Seikon no Qwaser, Queen's Blade and Freezing are better. etc.
Minamike is inferior to Azumanga and so on.

No Gundam 00? It was the first Gundam in HD - kind of an important mark on a series that's over 30 years old. It diverged from the "every opening and closing song has to be super hyper J-Techno" theme. The stories were pretty interesting, the characters were compelling, and (most importantly in my book) it didn't devolve into a batshit insane clusterfuck of bad plotlines and magic powers.
Sure, you had the whole "advanced humans" thing, but they explained it way better than previous series did in my book.
Gundom 00 had the worse character development that I've seen in any anime ever.
Somehow they manage to make main characters more depressing with each gundam they go, by now amuro is god tier of manliness compared to.... last 10 years.
Of course no one ever saw G or V, hell even Loran on Turn A TURRRRN A, was more down to earth than any main character on any gundam period.
I saw G as a kid it was pretty much like a kung-fu montage but it was a pretty fun watch for the tech names XD

I have seen literally all Gundams, and I'm sorry for saying it, Gundam 00 was anything but original. All the same stuff, only now in HD.
Gundam SEED had much more new stuff in it. (Though they have managed to f*ck up the universe irreversibly in the GSD.)

I think Code Geass had more in common with Gundam Seed than 00.

No, the Berserk Anime is not "incomplete"... it was deliberately ended like that to lead directly into the Dreamcast Game without really spoiling anything from it. Episode 1 is a retelling of the game's 1st level.
And in answer to if it was any good: Yes... I still have the game, but I'd honestly have to say the Anime and Manga were much better in execution than the Game was.
Kinda makes me want them to remake the game with today's tech. A GOW-style Berserk Game would rock.
No. The original Berserk anime starts off with a peek of awesomeness, then starts into a totally mundane story, then at the very end, it gets really interesting and the credits roll. Ultimate troll anime.

@08:05 Guess you never played the PS2 ver of Berserk, was pretty much GOW style berserk very well excecuted with well the necessary censorship to pass, contained what was from Vol 17-22, from the Troll village, until AD&D Guts party was set up and he received the Berserker armor, with plenty remember of his fight on the field of deads from the band of the hawks.
Pretty fun and well done manga based game, one of the best adaptation from a comic book, second to Giogio bizarre adventure, ougon kaze.

I love Clannad, I really Do think it's one of the better anime of the past ten years. That said, I'm not sure it's number 1. There's no way I can judge that realistically however, as every one has their own opinion.
Clannad is basically like a Drama.... well second season that is. I guess people really like dramas but they are more popular than animu after all.
Dramas all suck compared to Clannad.
I have a complicated feeling too, seeing Clannad at number 1. I have to admit the strength of it's drama, though. Since I cried a lot watching it, something that never happened when watching others.
