Magical puella fans have been celebrating the birthday of none other than Madoka – although with rather less gusto than is normally the case for such a moment.
I don't get it. People wish "happy birthday" on internet forums, but this person doesn't exist and certainly will never smile and thank you for thinking of "her." So why do it? It's not enough to show your fandom by just buying a few figurines and taking pictures of them?
Has anyone here forgotten their birthday? I was in Iraq 3 years ago and I got a opened and mangled letter from my wife with red white and blue DOTS candy in it saying happy birthday. It was special because when we were dating in the 90's we use to lick and put DOTS on our faces for fun.
Celebrating Madoka's Birthday is just like celebrating Christmas for Jesus' Birthday. I mean, they're both fictional characters who sacrificed themselves to "save the world" for the rest of us.
The only real difference is that Christmas is used to spread good will and cheer, and pad retailers profit margins, while Madoka's B-Day is used by Otaku to masturbate furiously to middle school girls in hot Yuri action. :P
I was wondering what kind of looks they get at the bakery when they order the cake. Maybe Japanese bakeries post poster size lists of character birthdays in order to entice otaku into spending their yen.
I think they have a Otaku bakery, they must earn hell of a lot money every year, think about it... we could open a bakery and be RICH!!
So when is it Kyubees birthday?
Yeah, we're supposed to be celebrating someone's birthday, but I'm not sure who... Must be a popular and very nice girl I suppose to have so many well wishers...
16. Asian countries count year of birth as '1'... so *technically* she's pseudo-legal now if you want to argue Japanese Legal Age according to Law... =P
You should be more concerned about Zangief showing off his muscular body, then. Or Ryu's shirtless costume. Male ass scratching is HARDLY sexualized (actually it's... More
Fair enough. Why don't you start? Instead of whining on the Internet a videogame is not coming out outside of Asia because supposedly feminists whined... More
Sachiko is constantly the buttmonkey who gets embarrassed, though. Between Koume and Shouko messing with her head and scaring her, the Producer forcing her to... More
It amazes me how much people do to celebrate an anime character's birthday, haha. :D
I'm still sitting here wondering where the dates come from.
official websites
Looks like a projector to me, the candles block off part of the picture.
I am more interested in how they did the shadow art with the cake. That must take alot of effort and I like to know how I can replicate that.
Sooner or later they will start celebrating Mami's decapitation day...........
Just waiting for the birthday of a certain headless girl. I'll see some creativity there.
Ayase: Why do people collect so many of the same figures?
Kirino: One for lending, One for use and One for keeping!
*glares at Ayase

Homura's like "Yeah, I'm gonna get me some Madoka tonight..."
But yeah, happy birthday to Madoka, she's like 15 now.
