Agreed, we have them in the states but I meant in the context of just about every anime that takes place in Japan (and some that don't) it's played up as being part of the summer experience like the humidity, festivals and watermelon eating/smashing.

Stripes actually make you look quite a bit fatter than usual. That coupled with her tiny little legs must make her look terrible. Her professional shots are good at hiding those stubby legs though.
