With most of the staples of the last decade evidently at saturation point, it seems what fans really think they want is more along the lines of Code Geass and Madoka – although unfortunately producing such hits is probably vastly more difficult and less financially rewarding than simply providing an endless succession of Type B schoolgirl anime, which it seems anime fans lap up irrespective of their vociferous complaints.

To be honest Tsundere anime are abit annoying... They just use the "Tsundere" side of one character to overextend the anime.
The world need more cyber punk, gothic (moe and shonen crap doesn't count)and mind fuck anime.

I can't believe I'm saying this but we don't need anymore ero. We need some anime with some damn solid plots for once. Anime creators are now thinking that flashing tits blinds us all to their shitty, cliche plots. The problem is that they have become SO cliche that it's impossible to ignore.
I would actually like *more* ero, just not shitty ero. that means quality animation as well as original plot and characters (or at least not the same rehashed harem crap with the same obnoxious character types we've seen 1000 times already). have more "normal" body types, not just have the now overdone giant oppai on every other girl. no more bullshit censorship either. it really irks me when some conveniently placed object covers the goods. and probably as an addendum to better animation, fewer rehashed viewing angles. I actually don't want every pantsu or boob shot to be an ultra zoom in.
and more lolis couldn't hurt either
Myself? I would actually like more yandere. Even if we have another protagonist that I would like to punch repeatedly in the face like in School Days.
Ero where the genitalia looks realistic would be nice, too. It kinda kills the mood if the point of the whole show is badly done, like a mecha anime with shitty mech designs.

If I'm not mistaken, you're thinking of ecchi anime as being fanservicy. Anon 11:43 is correct in his descriptions of ero anime I believe. I could be wrong, but I've always understood that to be the distinction since 'ero' is short for 'erotic' and that definitely has sexual overtones.
And I agree, personally I would love to see an ero anime that is given quality. One of the most sexy, romantic, and generally erotic moments in anime was the ending of Toradora when she's silently asking for one more kiss. I imagine that an actual sex scene with that level of sensuality and drowning in affection for one another could be a very poignant scene. Not that scene in particular, mind you, as far as I'm concerned that scene was perfect. I mean just attempting to give subtle motions and character to the sensuality of the moment to give the characters their own sense of the erotic AS characters.
But I also must admit, sex in movies usually feels forced and stupid. When it exists for laughs and general arousal in anime, it's more funloving and there to make you smile, KNOWING they're pandering. In Watchmen I found myself wanting to slap the shit out of the director when there was the sex scene on the couch, which was tasteful, and then they save the people in the burning building, and then there's like a 5 minute scene devoted to his ugly ass thrusting. It was insulting to me that they wasted my time on a redundant and irrelevant scene.
So it's a tough thing to decide where the context for sex belongs in any medium, and most especially how it's portrayed.

"ero" anime means anime with lots of fanservices (i.e. pantyshots, nake girls etc)...what you are thinking is "hentai" anime.
But yea...most people that watch KanojoXKanojoXKanojo watch it for Mafuyu, reactions to the other two girls are kinda "meh"...
how about harem comedy WITH plot, decent artwork, character development, episodic and 26+ episodes?

Just ask them to remake all the older animes like Berserk, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Hunter X Hunter in their original manga form. Blood, guts, and no fucking censoring. And hopefully they'll make an anime of Zetman.
We need anime that avoids cliche and introduces totally original plot elements that nobody ever imagined before.

One of the biggest things I've ever been upset about is how royally screwed up Hyakka Ryouran was.
It had an ORIGINAL plot, it wasn't based off any manga, and it had such promise. The first 2 minutes of episode 1 really wowed me and I thought "man this is gonna be an awesome anime!"
But then the next 286 minutes were just a bunch of harem crap and I cried nearly every episode at the massive loss of potential.

i want more queens blade, but not so much for the tits as for knowing more of the characters, i loved Airi after the character development she had, and is funny since is amongst the most well covered characters of the series.
I'm with ya on that one, but most people just laugh at us for wanting something more from Queen's Blade than tits. First they say "All anime that flashes tits at you is shallow!" Then we ask for some with more plot, story and character development and still get hated for it.
It's like we men are not allowed to see perverted things while having an enjoyable plot running along side it.
