Bleach has been attracting attention for the wrong reasons again – in this case for managing to leave production directions scrawled all over an entire scene broadcast on TV (clearly visible in the second frame).
Although sloppy animation and occasional relatively subtle errors afflict even the most well received of anime and may be excused, managing to leave in an entire frame of production directions is rather pushing the envelope.

It can be damn well animated, but leaving production scribbles is still a very unprofessional thing to do.
It`s probably something as simple as switching off a layer, but the fact that it was missed out means that there was sloppy checking.
It`s just like a dish from a restaurant tasting godly, but finding that there`s a fly in it after you are done.
This is NOT a "production scribble", it looks that way on purpose. That drawing is exactly as it should be, because that's the effect that particular animator is going for.
Believe it or not, there is more than one animation style in anime. This is just one of them.
*top right
Before you get so defensive at the apparent hate on the internet, take a step back - no, wait, take a step closer to the screen.
We're NOT TALKING ABOUT THE CLOUDS. Even if it looks sloppy, I can accept it as style. But hello? Please, convince me that the box full of kanji writing at the top left of the explosion is an effect.
The explosion is so epic, that it produced KANJI!!!!
dear god!! that could be epic!!!
that tears it, next arc must be a bleach/otomedius/parodius crossover!
It's a spoiler and it's a revelation.
The green light washed the lies away. My whole life was just frames, words hanging in the air like bubbles. I was in a graphic novel. Funny as Hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.
So having some random logos of the manuscript paper or whatever you call it that they used was done for an "artistic purpose"?
What's this? some payed advertisement in my anime?
What i dont get is why t5he fuck does anyone care? IT'S FUCKING BLEACH! Nobody watches it anyways.
The fact that is Bleach is beside the point. I'm just irritated by people going "hurr durr bad animation" when they know jack shit about animation.
bleach IS shit. look what they did to aizen.
I know a little about animation, but this is besides the point here, the fact that this kinda shit made it to air shows a lack in the production staff. This should never ever happen, thankfully something like is easy to correct and probably won't lose them to much money, unlike in the printing industry where a fuck up could end up costing thousands and thousands of dollars and one single persons job because they never asked Joe sitting in the desk next to them to double/triple/quadruple check their work, which is industry standard for this kinda thing. Fucking idiots.
Bleach sux people who watches it live boring lives... period.
So what is a good animation? Are animations not aimed at consumers? If the consumers themselves are not contented, you tell me, how do you even justify that animation as good? You can be happy with it in your own way, but the majority still defines good/bad, and no one is forcing you to follow suit.
Bleach is the shit.
you anon Shit is the real Shitty asshole!
Check yo shit motherfucka!
Talk shit about Bleach ONE MORE TIME!
You forgot to mention the fact that this episode was actually pretty damn well animated and had some high tier animators hired.
Exactly, so just accept it as an unintentional easter egg and be done with it. It's not like somebody drew, animated and colored two left legs with seven toes and three knees completely unnoticed by QA, for goodness' sake.
It really did look better than most bleach episodes, despite that error with the production directions(which I never even noticed while watching). And I mean in fighting animations, as they were actually animations instead of stills with moving backgrounds.
Although, just like all the previous fillers, this also sucked...
High tier? Still looks like jank to me. :-/
jank is the moe shit most of the people here watch
U mad?
Bleach, Naruto, blehhhhhhh
Always amazes me to see people watching and enjoying the current filler..
It's pretty stupid and pretty bad.. Maybe the sword spirit filler arc was decent, but the rest where like the cake making episode...
Looks like the Bleach fanboys are upset and in a down-vote frenzy.
It amazes me people actually keep watching Bleach. They're up to what now... 350 episodes? I crashed at 60 episodes.
Well, some people don't suffer from ADHD. Just sayin'.
The first arc was actually nice. It went down after they rescued female military chick.
I stopped at 12 lol
I've tried about 20 spiesodes and switched to dragon ball kai
Don't make stuff up, it was only ONE frame
There is nothing in the first frame you posted, you are just stiring hate
You seem to be new here, that's all this site is for
Hi welcome to hel..I mean Sankaku Complex. Be sure to browse the hentai section and click on one of the pop-up ads of happiness on your way out. Thank you.
You my good sir, seem to be new to the internet. 2chan is the place you're supposed to go to. And I'm not the guy above. Just sayin'.
*4chan. Typo. *le fail*
Bleach isn't really one of my favorite animes, I enjoyed it at first but then somewhere along the way it lost it's luster. I'm not saying it's a bad show, but it's not what it used to or could have been.
But despite this, I wouldn't criticize it for having ONE frame with the production directions. In fact, if anything it could be considered an easter egg of sorts and may have been deliberate.
building is drawn by a pencil brah
lol someone just exploDED in rage, its still lazy but I gave up watching the anime of bleach due to so many fillers, is it on the xceutioner whatever the hell is called arc yet?
the ending credits had a recap of Aizen's defeat this week followed by ichigo in plain clothes with voice over saying banking over and over again "because i won't be saying it for a long time"
banking? I meant bankai lol
I think there are coming some fillers new; an arc just finished it's main story. After that, I'm pretty sure the hell-arc would be beginning, as they've already given us a preview.
And whatever you do, don't watch naruto. It's 1/3 fillers. Well, the first season is. Not joking.
considering japanese anime is usualy done in either 6-8 frams thats a big gap......
lets face it most anime is craply animated thats why its so easily mass produced -_-'
Most western cartoons are crappily animated as well (fluidity alone does not equal good animation) and they still manage to eat millions of dollars of production funds despite that... Personally I'd take the Japanese philosophy of highly aesthetic designs over the 30fps-but-eye-cancer-inducing western concept of animation any day.
It's funny how anime was inspired by American cartoons, and now American cartoons are inspired by anime!
But anyway, why are people getting so butthurt over ONE frame of animation?! I understand that anime uses less frames per second than conventional animation, but this is just nitpickery cranked to the max! It's funny don't get me wrong, but really? Why get worked up over it?
I stopped watching Bleach too after having to deal with waaaaay too many filler arcs that make even DBZ blush!
@ anon 09:10
Did you even read the article?
Great that you put "personally" in your statement because this is a matter of opinion than fact.
Both west and east use stylized animation but Japan sacrifice tons of framerate for detail. Animations from US costs a lot simply because animators/concept artists/storyboard artists/etc... are paid more than their eastern counterpart. Japan's side pay their people very little unless their name is Miyazaki.
This really boils down to whether you like constant movement or highly stylized art. Personally, I like both, but am currently leaning towards western animation atm since, story-wise, contents in Japan are really lacking atm. I used to like Gintama before it became a potty joke series.
It sure does smell like weeaboo in here.
Highly aesthetic? Doesn't that go completely against what this article is about?
Pretty good animation for a filler (not like naruto fille's). The next one is gonna to be EPIC, le duela quien le duela.
