Okinawa Cameras Catch Couple Going At It Like Rabbits

A Kagoshima government conservation office was recently shocked to discover one of its mountain cameras caught a couple having sex under the stars in brazen disregard of the poor bureaucrats forced to monitor the system.
The Ministry of the Environment cameras succeeded in capturing the exceptionally rare sight of a pair of Amami rabbits (a “special natural monument” of Japan) mating.
The Amami bunnies are exceedingly shy, and for them to be caught in the act like this is said to provided a rare insight into their behaviour.
Amami rabbits, found only on a few Okinawan islands, are regarded as a “living fossil” as they one of the most primitive forms of extant lagomorphs.
The species has been under pressure from deforestation and predation by domestic pets, but most damaging to their numbers was the genius decision to introduce mongooses onto the island to eat its native pit vipers. The mongooses started eating the rabbits instead.
Local environmental bureaucrats set up 200 motion sensitive cameras in 2007 in order to monitor the island’s rare species and the mongooses which enjoy eating them, with these latest photographs coming only 3 months after the camera responsible was installed.
Officials are very happy about the photographs, saying “there is no doubt these show the breeding activities of the Amami rabbit.”

I have two bunnies. They are adorable and I love them, but they are NOT innocent.
In fact, I am reasonably sure one of them is actually Nightcrawler, because sometimes I'll go in to the bunny room to give he and his friend breakfast, and he'll have somehow gotten out of the still closed, untouched, 3 1/4foot tall cage and will be SITTING ON TOP OF IT, waiting for me.
They can be a little scary sometimes.
