The World god Only Knows is pictured, but isn't on the list.
Misleading.
I concur. Plus, Death Note shouldn't even be on this fail list.
Indeed. Death Note has a very good art, one of the best I've seen in manga...besides keeping a lot of suspense...maybe it was put on this list by the seiyuus or the music...
Misleading as it always has been.
TWGOK is awesome and deserves to be on the list more than at least death note as mentioned.
i totally agree, it should have been here
Misleading picture is misleading.
And I agree....TWGOK is awesome.
Deserves a 3rd season.
And FYI, the new OVA is out on watchanimemovie.com
I think Artefact meant that TWGOK was great as a manga, but just didn't do too well as an anime given its sales.
But yeah, definitely could've been taken the wrong way.
Woot! Baka to Test is there.
Even idiots can make the grade...
That comment held much more win because of your account and pic
indeed
Excuse me. How does ga-rei-zero top the manga?
There wasn't even a manga........
There's the sequel/original plot "Ga-Rei"
Ga-Rei Zero was just a prequel right?
and they forgot baka test :(
shouldn't clannad be included? ive read the manga well seen like a few pages (they're pure shit) the anime is simply godly.
What a joke for it to even be on this list.
How can the anime exceed the original when they turned the story into a piece of shit?
I think some people care more about the animation than reading through a novelization. If it turns out to be fun, I don't see why not. Most of those transitions results in two totally different products. Though stuff like Bakemonogatari ends up being a bit funny since it's barely animated in anime form.
But if you were to compare/rewatch or re-read,you'd dislike the anime
The anime didn't really show that Yuuji is a genius when serious and etc.
You know the real driving force behind Baka to Test is Hideyoshi. Admit it!
Gintama! i love the anime.
*brofist
oh yeah brofist
How about Break blade? I think the anime is cool compare to manga. I like the giant shuriken throwing finish ending.
Break Blade plot is cool in both world but mostly I like the manga version. The mecha is awesome if you want to take a break from other mecha anime series that are over exaggerated robot abilities like the super fast movement and bunch of laser or missiles.
As far as the ending of Break blade is concerned. In manga Rygart kill Borcuse because he taunt him that makes Rygart a huffy person while in anime Rygart kill Borcuse because he was provoke(Borcuse shoot him with his pistol in Rygart's damage cockpit) that make his action justify.
Please if you think the anime's shuriken is good (its more a morning star variant if you ask me), read Break Blade chap 50, after you see that Monster Kill, come back and say it vagain
all that is missing is the 3D representation/cosplay of the illustration, or emphasis of the titles listed.
Break Blade Anime better than the manga? Read the manga first before talking..boy!

..
what?
I notice this list it tends to contain more comedy series. In that category, I'd like to nominate School Rumble, the anime adaptation is pretty loyal to the manga, but the animation just makes it better.
Card Captor Sakura? Wasn't expecting that.
I also nominate School Rumble!
One of my favorite series, although I really, really, really wished they had made a full season 3 instead of ova.
School Rumble made it to #42.
And in CCS, a lot of changes were made between the manga and anime. Like, Meilin didn't exist in the manga, so the squinty-eyed guy played the role of evil witch during their Sleeping Beauty school play.
2 names - Tange Sakura & Hisakawa Aya
same here, awesome stuff and BS they come out with
Agreed on Gintama, but the manga is still great in my opinion
The reason why Gintama animated is better is because slapstick really doesn't have the same impact without movement, I think.
No Ghost in the shell? Or were the Otaku's too busy with the Yuri 3 way?
Planetes. The anime ending have more impact.
I don't usually read manga, so as not to spoil the viewing experience of the Anime version if one is made, but I agree 100% with Lucky Star and Ga-Rei Zero.
Though technically, Ga-Rei Zero was a sequel to the manga and not an adaptation...
Also, I think that many SOL series do better as an Anime than a Manga is because with Anime, you have a while new added dimension of the voice actors' expressions, intonations and interactions to add to the humor.
Ga-Rei Zero was prequel not sequel right?
Yeah... Sometimes, I don't spell check... or think when I'm typing.
Gintama is the best example of an anime version better than the manga, the voices are just too hilarious
I'm probably alone with this opinion, but I also liked the Fairy Tail anime more than the manga
while it was kinda stupid that they it made more child-friendly, the soundtracks were so awesome that they easily make up for it
How 'bout Sailor Moon?
For a while the manga was published in English and while good it was one thing a team of animators who were "Better artists" by the original author's own admission really, really improved.
By contrast "Sorcerer Hunters" suffered a bit, due to things like more elaborate costuming not able to be animated, but was still nice.
5. Ao no Exorcist
Finally some respect for the greatest 2011 Anime,
well maybe not greatest, but it's up there!
Horrible list, Death Note should definitely not be on, manga was far more superior.
Damn right Kamisama Dolls is up there. That show is bad ass. But.. I heard a lot of people complaining abou tthe last episode of Blue Exorcist... but it still made it up there... hmm.
I knew it wouldn't be up there considering timing, but Sailor Moon should be on the list.
I agree. I love the structure of the story in the anime.
yea, it makes no sense b/c Ga Rei Zero has no manga adaptation...
What is it about a boring slice of life full of annoying girls who barely practice their band that deserves to have a spot ABOVE "Anything buy Kyoani"?
First, read the manga. Then, watch the anime. After that, compare...
That is,.. if your still mentally capable of doing so. Reading the manga and watching the anime could lead to some serious brainissues.
Like getting an aneurysm...
