Even the notoriously anti-Korean inhabitants of 2ch are praising Korea’s new Vocaloid design for her excellent design – behold See-U:
The music:
More art by the designer, Kkuem:
Supposedly she is an awesomely cute cosplayer as well (although the usual cautionary statements about cosplayers, idols, women and Koreans all apply):
Vocaloid fans also cannot help but notice how superior her efforts are to the latest Japanese Vocaloid…

She's a hell of a lot better looking than the fail American version of Miku...
and probably a hell lot better at gaming ...
there is a above average probability that she has a master rank, if not grand master ranked, at starcraft two. Heavens forbid if you get matched up against that pair of melons, you might just get cheesed
masters rank at drawing for sure.
I hope you know that the 'american' version was just for a convention, right?
It may be only for a convention but it's still fail in comparison...
Just for a convention? Good, would be horrible if it was a permanent representation of her in North America.
Well I know what song I'm gonna try to make when I get this vocaloid:
Gee gee gee gee baby baby baby
Gee gee gee gee baby baby baby
i was thinking run devil run myself >:D
hell yeah!
It's pretty awesome and I like the more computerized sounding voice of Vocaloids. It's cool that they are getting more and more human sounding, but at the same time, there was that bit of computerized sound that drew me into Vocaloids in the first place.
The only problem I have is, the voice doesn't seem to match up with the excessively cute face.
>watches video...
>*jaw drops in awe*
face aside, this is a vocaloid O_O!?!?!?!??! impossible!!!!!!!!!!! i might just fall in love with k-pop at this rate.. let alone the voice of this new vocaloid...@_@
Too bad Koreans don't do full nudity, sex engrossed artworks.
They just make concept arts for mmorpgs with ridiculous tease.
I hope you know how much Autotune is used in K-Pop songs so it is pretty easy to make her sound like the 'real' thing...
Oh good, it would suck to know that K-pop singers sound robotic.
I look forward to listening to their classical or anything non-pop.
yeah i kinda feel some barrier/layer that makes weird sounds .. sounds feels restricted
yeah seriously i understand this is a digitized vocal program but it sounds like they added an extra layer of auto tune on top of it :/
Pro:
-Awesome design
Cons:
-Sounds like a 28~35 year old woman, on contrast with 17 "pichi pichi" year old Miku-sama.
A side note: Even when Korea implements as much english words in their regular vocabulary as japs do nowadays(or else introduce none, I dont like it half-assed), still wont get enough fame to rival crypton vocaloid. For now its a "nice try" only.
Whatever, Korean designs are my cup of tea and its easier to learn Korean than to learn Japanese so I support this!
You still get more benefit out of learning Japanese, then korean ~ if you're otaku
it's not about easier getting the stuff lol ! it's about the quality .. old hag .. bwahahaha
Of course Japanese will always be better, but even knowing Korean opens up a whole lot of anime world. Getting anime stuff in Korea is hella easier than getting it shipped to US or virtually any other country.
okay design soo cute but i think many ppl in this world can surpass that design, about the voice .. old hag ?
i dont really get the people complaining about the voice...
since she is actually voiced by a 17 year-old (unlike miku and the others who were voiced by older seiyuus) i think the problem you have is with the fact that she doesn't sound like "cute" or "young" in the anime-ish way? because despite what most people seem to think, most teenagers don't sound like Miku, Yui and the like but more like this...
I agree, the voice and face don't exactly match.
THIS! The voice is way too.. uhm.. mature-ish? Too not- IT JUST DOESN'T FIT. OKAY? :I
I'm unsure why all you people are complaining she is voiced by an actual 17 year old.
If you want voices that don't match the characters then look at Nekomura Iroha, I think SeeU is a perfect match.
i'm fine with the voice-character matchups, it's just that the one pic of SeeU up here makes her look pretty young. in a different pose perhaps?
wait until the fanart comes out, people will be changing their tune.
i dont care if her is 17, her voice just not match
lol korean and chinese quality = die
SeeU N.T.
:D
I see what U did there.
I'm shocked it was a g-g-g-girl!
Sounds better than Japanese vocaloids, but then again, I don't speak Korean.
lol autotune
Fuck yeah Korean Vocaloid!!
I'm a fan of Kkeum and they couldn't have chosen a better artist for this project!!
SeeU looks and sounds awesome, I'm looking forward to her "career" :)
Love that art style, and quite a looker IRL.
But those dumplings... THOSE DUMPLINGS....
Welcome to the family, Neighbour :)
She can speak in English tooooooo?!?!?!?!!?!
The face and clothing is cute. Her proportions look awkward. Her thighs and hips are way to fat and wide for the size of her waist and shoulders. This is to the point of unacceptable.
A nice first draft, not a final product in my opinion.
Ever heard of stylised? Seriously now she looks fine.
lol korean sonna kanji nee~, stupid korean
I had my doubts, but this is pretty cool.
Pretend Japan Hooray!
This might sound creepy and this will be a 1st for me but "I WANT TO MARRY THE ARTIST!!" :3 P.S. big fan of vocaloids too
Name ("See U"): bleh, unless the syllables mean something in Korean.
Character design: grade-A - interesting, cute, and reasonably-proportioned
Music: Sounds like "The Eurythmics" (a 1980s band)
Lyrics: a bit too repetitive.
Vocaloid programming: needs some more fine-detail work.
Pic #14 -- http://img3.sankakustatic.com/wp-content/gallery/cache/112683__468x_kkuem-014.jpg -- "Oh, my God, no! Those elephant hips!!"
Name is a play off of a Korean singer named Aiyu(IU).
And isn't she wearing like puffy shorts or something in that pic?
Nice song, and she looks good too.
lol only looks good, autotune spams ?
Love the art work especially pic #4, 7 & 9. My kind of 2D girl. Really cute!
The music is really good too but as somebody here already mentioned, the synthesized voice and the artwork doesn't match up well.
If they could "sweeten" the voice up by taking some of the "machine" out of it they'd have a big winner IMHO.
Oh my god, she draws so many blonds, and she draws them so well... *_*
If she was my wife I'd just tell her to get back to the drawing desk; screw the kitchen!
Food's on me! Just keep feeding my soul! <_<
Ahem... haha...
I'm actually rather impressed.
A great addition to the vocaloid family.
Sadly, the same can't be said about an "Americanized" Miku
